Hello,
The laptop was doing good, but a few days ago when I turned it on, the type-c ports were not working!!! The Usb ports works normal but the type-c ports just went. Any fixes? The laptop is Nitro AN14-41.

Hi, did you perhaps try to charge the USB-C ports with a very large USB-C charger that exceeds 100 Watt? This is a 2024 model, take it to Acer Services in your country to have the USB-C ports checked under warranty.

I have the exact same issue with the same laptop, usb-c ports worked just fine then from one day to another just stopped. Doesn't recognize anything I connect to it. Usb-A still works. Did you find a fix? I have tried just about anything.

No. It’s the same as it was. I will try to reinstall the windows after 1-2 months because now I have important things in it. I hope the problem is from the drivers and it will be fixed. If not probably I will take it to service. (If you don’t have anything so important in the laptop you can try it but it’s not 100% that it will get fixed. If you try or find new fix please tell me.)

If your Acer Nitro AN14-41's Type-C ports are not working while other USB ports are, try restarting your computer, checking for physical damage in the port, updating drivers in Device Manager, and ensuring your BIOS is up to date.

If the Type-C ports on your Nitro AN14-41 laptop stopped working, ensure your drivers are updated from Acer's support page, check for errors in Device Manager, and test with different Type-C devices. Inspect the ports for damage or debris, reset BIOS settings to default, and, if the issue persists, contact Acer support for assistance

Oh that sucks. I might try to reinstall Windows since nothing is working. My laptop is only a few weeks old so not the worst hassle. Will keep you updated.

Appreciated you trying to help but all of this has already been tried and failed. No error in device manager, no drivers can be updated, tried to reinstall all drivers - doesn't help, updated BIOS, uninstalled the usb4 device, tweaked power saving settings, no physical damage as the computer is only a few weeks old and both ports stopped working at the same time and can't connect other devices to either of them so likely a software issue, rolled back windows updates, tried a power circuit reset, did some cleanup restore health procedures I found on reddit that worked for people with razer blade with the same issue.

    Nothing. Is. Working.

Most annoying thing is that the usb c charging works (I think) when the computer is turned off since the led indicator from my attached dock then lights up..

If anyone knows why this happens, please reach out.

FYI, complete reinstallation of the computer did NOT help.

im experiencing this issue too, and laptop is only just over a week old. Tried everything suggested online and not been able to resolve. Can I ask if you found a solution to this in the end as your update was a few weeks ago? Did Acer support help at all?

If the USB Type-C ports on your Acer Nitro AN14-41 are not working, even though other USB ports function, try restarting your computer, checking for physical damage, updating drivers, and ensuring your BIOS is up to date. If the issue persists, it could be a hardware problem or compatibility issue with specific devices or cables.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    1. Basic Checks:
    Restart your computer:
A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches.
    Check for physical damage:
Examine the Type-C ports and cables for any signs of damage like bent pins or loose connections.
Try a different cable and device:
If possible, test with another known working Type-C cable and device to isolate the problem.
    Check power management settings:
Ensure that the power management settings for USB devices are not restricting power to the Type-C ports.
    2. Driver Updates and BIOS:
Update USB drivers: Open Device Manager, expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers," and update the drivers for your USB controllers, including Type-C ports.
Update BIOS: Check the Acer support website for the latest BIOS update for your Nitro AN14-41 and follow the instructions to update it.
Update Thunderbolt drivers (if applicable): If your laptop has Thunderbolt support, update those drivers as well.
    3. Advanced Troubleshooting:
    Reinstall USB drivers:
If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the USB Root Hub and Host Controller drivers.
    Check for Windows updates:
Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date, as updates can include driver and system stability improvements.
Test with a different operating system:
If possible, try booting from a live USB drive with a different operating system (like Linux) to see if the issue persists, which can help isolate the problem to Windows.

thanks for this but I’ve already trued all of this and the laptop is only 1 week old. Ive since contacted Acer support who believe its a hardware issue after I confirmed I’ve already tried updating BIOS, drivers and windows update (all up to date btw). The device manager recognises the ports just nothing happens when i plug a device into them. The same as others have mentioned above. Im not the greatest computer tech person but can only go on the troubleshooting tips found online and acer support. Ive tried everything and nothing from the ports.

Acer collected the laptop from me today and are looking to repair and return to me within 15 days.

thank you for your help its much appreciated!

sorry to hear about this, it must be a common issue as you say. Just had message from acer confirming repair successful and are quality checking. No comment on what caused the issue however.
