If you only need to use Linux via the command line, it is recommended to enable the WSL feature on Windows 11, allowing you to use both Windows 11 and Linux simultaneously.

It is always best to give us the actual model number when asking questions. "Swift 3" could be any of a lot of different models. If it's a band new machine the chances are fairly good that you might want to wait a few months before installing Linux on it, since it typically takes the developers around a year to fully support new laptop designs. If yours is older than that, and with a Swift 3 it could be up to about ten years old, then the answer is going to depend on what resources you have and how you want to divide them between the two OSes. You typically need a large enough drive to support both OS versions, plus user data.

Yes, you can use both Windows 11 and Linux on an Acer Swift 3 laptop. You can either install them as a dual boot or use Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) to run Linux alongside Windows 11.
    Here's a more detailed explanation:-

    1. Dual Booting:
This involves installing both Windows 11 and your chosen Linux distribution on separate partitions of your hard drive.
During startup, you'll be presented with a boot menu allowing you to choose which operating system to load.
This method provides the best performance for both operating systems as they run natively.
    2. Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL):
WSL allows you to run Linux distributions directly within Windows 11 without the need for a virtual machine or dual-booting.
You can install various Linux distributions from the Microsoft Store, such as Ubuntu, Debian, or Kali Linux.
WSL is a good option if you want to use Linux tools and environments without completely switching from Windows.

WSL is convenient for development and testing purposes.
To install Linux on your Acer Swift 3, you'll need:
A bootable USB drive with your chosen Linux distribution (e.g., Ubuntu, Mint).
A way to access your laptop's BIOS settings (usually by pressing F2 or Delete during startup).
To follow the installation instructions for your chosen Linux distribution.
To set up dual boot, you'll need to:
Shrink your Windows partition to create space for Linux.
Install Linux, ensuring you select the option to install it alongside Windows.
Configure the bootloader to allow you to choose between Windows and Linux.
If you encounter issues during Linux installation, consider:
Checking your BIOS settings for potential conflicts (e.g., Secure Boot, UEFI settings).
Verifying that your USB drive is bootable and that you've selected the correct boot device.
Consulting online forums or communities for specific Acer Swift 3 Linux installation guides.
