I recently dropped my bag and he corner of the laptop broke off (the plastic part above the hinge), the core component is fine but a piece of the plastic cover broke off. My buddy said it's an easy fix and only requires a new backplate, I would take it to a repair shop but i'm not bothered to drop 400 dollars, could someone please explain to me how to remove the plastic cover behind the screen and reapply the new one, thanks!

It would be easier and more explanatory if you took a caption of what part of your laptop broke, as if its the "plastic part above the hinge" that is the uppercase & keyboard panel which is a sealed unit and you will have to buy the whole upper case & keyboard assembly, as Acer does not sell just the upper case.

You can by the upper case and try to change the upper cover and attach the existing keyboard, but I warn you, that the keyboard is riveted to the upper case and its very hard to separate the two without damaging the keyboard.

These upper cases are available on eBay so look here (see caption below) also be aware that this is a big job, as you will have to take all the Nitro ANV16-41 laptops components out like the mainboard and all its components out and swap them into the new upper case. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

See this guide of how to open and take the lower case off and open the Nitro ANV16-41 laptop,

as you can see it's the back panel behind the lcd (sorry if there was a mix up I'm not too familiar with laptop repairs)
