Hi, why did you upgrade BIOS, there is only one BIOS version available that was already installed? Boot to BIOS with F2 and press F9 (Reset) then F10 (Save changes). There is a small pinhole in the back of your laptop (with a battery sign), stick a pin in that hole till you feel it click (micro switch), keep pressing the pin for a few seconds. This will reset the battery. If you still can't boot to Windows take the laptop to Acer Services in your country to reset the system to factory default without charges or for a small service fee.

If an Acer Swift SFG14-74 laptop won't start after a BIOS update, it's likely due to a corrupted or improperly installed BIOS. Try a hard reset by unplugging the laptop, holding the power button for 60 seconds, and then attempting to boot. If that doesn't work, consider using the BIOS recovery method specific to your model, which may involve using a recovery file or a specific key combination during startup.

    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1. Hard Reset:
Unplug the laptop from the power adapter and disconnect any peripherals.
If the battery is removable, remove it. If it's internal, locate the battery reset pinhole (usually a small, unmarked hole).
Hold the power button down for 60 seconds to discharge any residual power.
If using the pinhole, insert a paperclip and hold it for 15-30 seconds.
Reconnect the power adapter and turn on the laptop.
    2. BIOS Recovery (If applicable):
Check Acer Support: Refer to the Acer support website for your specific model (SFG14-74) for BIOS recovery instructions. There may be a recovery file or a specific key combination to trigger the recovery process.
Emergency Flash (If available): Some laptops have an emergency flash feature. This often involves holding a specific key (like Ctrl+Esc or Alt+F10) while powering on to initiate a BIOS recovery from a USB drive.

    3. Check for BIOS Menu:
If the laptop shows any signs of life (fans spinning, lights turning on), try entering the BIOS menu by pressing F2 or Delete repeatedly during startup.
If you can access the BIOS, load the default settings and save the changes.
    4. Seek Professional Help:
If the above steps don't work, it's recommended to contact Acer support or a qualified technician for assistance. A faulty BIOS can sometimes require specialized tools to repair or replace.
    Important Considerations:
    Static Electricity:
Before touching any internal components, discharge any static electricity by touching a grounded metal surface.
    Battery Reset:
If your laptop has an internal battery, the pinhole reset is a crucial step for discharging the system.
