I am fair but not high tech savvy. My Predator Helios 18 computer has not had any problems until 2 days ago. No matter what I have tried I can not get the Keyboard lights to work. The FN F11 and F12 keys have no effect and I even went to task manager for a reset to no avail. When a shut down and restart, all the keyboard lights flash and run their cycle as usual but when I go to type, they no longer light up the keyboard. Any help would be appreciated. Kim

To enable the keyboard backlight on your Acer Predator Helios 18, ensure the backlight is turned on in both the BIOS settings and through the Predator Sense application. If it's still not working, try updating or reinstalling the keyboard drivers, or resetting the Predator Sense app. If issues persist, check for a physical switch on the keyboard or consider if the keyboard is properly connected to the motherboard.

    Troubleshooting Steps:-
    1. Check BIOS Settings:
Access the BIOS settings by pressing the appropriate key during startup (usually F2 or Delete).
Look for a setting related to keyboard backlight and ensure it's enabled.
    2. Use Predator Sense Application:
    Launch the Predator Sense application.
Navigate to the "Lighting" or similar section.
Verify the backlight is turned on and explore different lighting effects.
    3. Update or Reinstall Drivers:
Open Device Manager by searching for it in the Windows search bar.
Expand "Keyboards" and right-click on your keyboard device.
Select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device". If uninstalling, restart your laptop to allow Windows to reinstall the driver.
    4. Reset Predator Sense:
Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
Find Predator Sense, click the three dots, and select "Advanced options".
    Choose "Reset".
    5. Check for Physical Switch:
Some models have a physical switch on the keyboard itself for controlling the backlight.
    6. Hardware Check:
If the above steps fail, consider if the keyboard is properly connected to the motherboard. This may involve opening the laptop (which may void the warranty).

Additional Tips:- Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches.
Check for updates: Ensure your system and Predator Sense are up-to-date.
Consult online forums: Search for your specific model and the issue you're experiencing on forums like Reddit, as others may have encountered similar problems.

Does changing the keyboard backlight setting in Predator Sense work?

I have the same problem on my Predator Helios 18 (PH18-71), keyboard lights stopped working 2 days ago.

The only way to get the keyboard lights on again is reinstalling Predator Sense but after a reboot it stops working again.

    error log shows openrgb.exe crashing.
