Why is my Nitro V15 GPU rpm so high (7000) even tho the temp is around 31c and not any heavy load?

Hello everyone, i have a Nitro V15 laptop and the gpu fan just gets unsually loud even after just turning the system on. Everytime i check on NitroSense the GPU rpm is always on 7200s while the CPU is 2000s. Both are under normal temp which is around 30. The battery power is on balanced mode and i already adjusted the fan to custom in lowest settings. I dont think its the CoolBoost settings as my model doesnt have that option. How do I fix this and what could be the causes?

Make sure that you have the last bios installed and all the Win-11 24H2 updates also and the last NVidia dedicated gpu driver, as that is important. If you have all that installed and your V15 ANV15-xx model laptop is still under warranty, then send your laptop to Acer Tech Support in your country, as your laptop has a problem with its temp sensors and its mainboard that monitor the cpu and gpu temps and that is why the fans are spinning at 7200 rpm prematurely to falsely compensate for the false high temps reading that it thinks that the laptop has.

Below are the temps that Acer tested the ANV15-51 with the Intel cpu and the RTX gpu's that your laptop should have as the fans should never ever reach 7200 rpm:

Unfortunately if your laptop is out of the Acer warranty you will have to fix this yourself and it could entail a new mainboard for your ANV15-xx laptop. Also, be aware that these laptops are known for problems with their Nitro Sense app not working and/or monitoring fan and cpu or gpu temps or its thermal temps monitoring issues that cause all these faults or the laptop turns off mid way through gaming which is a battery and an adapter voltage issue. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Sounds like your Nitro V15’s fan curve might be acting up. 7000 RPM at 31°C with no load definitely isn’t normal. Could be a stuck fan profile in NitroSense, a firmware glitch, or something forcing high fan speeds in the background. I’d check NitroSense first make sure it’s not set to max or manual mode. Also worth rebooting, updating BIOS/EC firmware from Acer’s site, and checking Task Manager for any GPU-hungry background apps. If everything looks clean and it’s still spinning like a jet, probably time to reach out to Acer support.
