Hi, wrong Format – If the SSD isn't initialized or formatted correctly, Windows won't recognize it. You can check this in Disk Management and format it as NTFS or exFAT.
Loose Connection – If the SSD isn't properly seated in the slot, it may not be recognized.
Driver Issues – Missing or outdated NVMe/SATA drivers can prevent detection. Updating drivers in Device Manager might help.
Faulty SSD or Slot – If none of the above work, testing the SSD in another device or checking the slot for damage could be necessary.

If you are using a M.2 Sata SSD make sure that slot2 supports NVMe and M.2 Sata SSDs.

Do this after you have installed the new M.2 SSD drive, as you need to do a Disk Management Initialization then right click the new drive and then initialize and give the new M.2 SSD drive a drive letter like “D” as that is what you didn’t do, as NO new M.2 SSD will be recognized within windows without initializing the drive through Disk Management. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

If your Acer Nitro 5 isn't recognizing a newly installed SSD, the problem is likely with the connection, BIOS settings, or drivers. First, ensure the SSD is securely connected and seated properly. Then, check your BIOS/UEFI settings to verify that the SSD is enabled and that SATA/AHCI mode is set correctly. If the SSD is still not detected, try updating or reinstalling the SSD drivers. You can also use Disk Management to see if the SSD is detected but not initialized. If none of these steps work, you may need to perform a hardware check or test the SSD in another computer. Here's a more detailed breakdown:1. Check Connections:

    • Loose Connections: Make sure the SSD is properly plugged into the laptop's internal drive bay.
    • Improper Seating: Ensure the SSD is securely seated in the connector.

    2. Verify BIOS/UEFI Settings:

    • SSD Enabled: Enter your laptop's BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, Del, or Esc during startup) and navigate to the storage/boot settings. Ensure the SSD is enabled as a bootable device.
    • SATA/AHCI Mode: Make sure the SATA mode is set to AHCI or RAID, depending on your needs.

    3. Update or Reinstall Drivers:

    • Check Device Manager:Open Device Manager and look for any unknown devices or devices with error icons.
    • Update/Reinstall Drivers:If you find an error or unknown device, right-click on it and choose "Update driver" or "Uninstall" and then reinstall.

    4. Use Disk Management:

    • Open Disk Management: Search for "Disk Management" in the Windows search bar and open it.
    • Check for Disk: See if the SSD is listed as a disk, but it might not be initialized. If it's there, you can try initializing it.

    5. Perform Hardware Checks:

    • Memory Diagnosis: Run the built-in memory diagnosis tool in Windows (search for "Memory Diagnostic") to check for any memory issues that might be affecting the SSD.
    • SSD Health Checks: Use tools like CrystalDiskInfo to check the health of the SSD.

    6. Test the SSD in Another PC:

    • Test in another computer: If the SSD still isn't recognized, try testing it in another computer to determine if it's faulty.
