I have an Acer Aspire 3, and it stopped turning on. The battery light turns off when I press the power button, and occasionally, the power light flashes once.

A power on issues in an Aspire 3 (btw it will be more helpful if you gave us the exact model number like A315-xx) as these power on issues can happen from many causes like a bad battery, a shorted mains power rail, a frozen EC, Chipset chips or a bad bios. I suggest that you do a hard reset of your Aspire 3 laptops by doing the below steps.

if your Aspire 3 is between 3-4 years old, I suggest that you change the battery first as that could be faulty and the reason for this problem.

Then do a hard reset, as your laptops EC, Chipset or bios could be frozen and stopping the boot process, to a hard reset do this; first press the power key for 10 seconds to release all power to the laptop, then take the main battery out, disconnect the bios battery and short its mainboard +&- plug pins to reset CMOS and then take all the removable ram out, wait for 30-60min so that all the chips reset and then reconnect everything, if you have 2x ram modules only connect one and see if the ram is the cause of this issue. As after doing this hard rest your laptop should fire up and boot correctly.

If all the above doesn't work, then take your laptop to a technetium as you have some major issues with your laptop that no reset will fix, as you could have a shorted main power rail. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
