Dear Acer team,

I’m reaching out as a user of the Acer Nitro 5 ANV15-41 laptop. Since updating to BIOS version 1.15, I’ve encountered a persistent problem that seems to affect many users of this model.

❗ The issue is with fan behavior — after installing BIOS 1.15, the fans no longer respond properly to CPU and GPU temperature. Even under heavy load, the fans remain slow or silent, causing high temperatures and performance drops.

This wasn’t an issue before BIOS 1.15, so it’s likely related to EC or thermal control changes introduced in that version.

I’ve tried all available solutions (clean installs, different versions of NitroSense, drivers, Windows settings), but nothing resolves the issue.

📣 Please investigate this bug and consider releasing an updated BIOS to restore proper thermal behavior. It’s a frustrating experience for many Nitro 5 ANV15-41 owners, and we would deeply appreciate a fix.

Thanks for your attention and support!

Your Nitro ANV15-41 laptop bios has a new version 1.17 so update to that version first and see if this issue is fixed. The cpu/gpu fans on your laptop are not only being affected by the bios, as the 1.15 version fix was to the "Update for power setting parameters" which should have fixed the fan power issues. The other issue could be from the Win-11 updates also, also check the AMD updates that were done pre and post you updated to bios version 1.15, as a culmination of all these updates could affect the problem that you are having. Good luck.

Well, I updated the BIOS to version 1.17 and updated the chipset, but nothing helps. The problem hasn’t been resolved for a couple of months already. What does the company even do?"

Check your ANV15-41 cpu/gpu fans if they are not faulty as that could contribute to this problem or otherwise the mainboard fan sensors are faulty also and could affect the fans.

Check the cpu/gpu fans below and if any are faulty replace them with the fans below.

    Hi again,

Thanks for your reply. However, I already updated the BIOS to version 1.17, installed the latest AMD chipset drivers, and made sure all Windows and AMD updates are applied. Unfortunately, the issue still persists.

The custom fan mode in NitroSense is completely broken — it simply doesn’t work anymore. Before BIOS 1.15 everything was working perfectly: fans were quiet and customizable. But after updating to 1.15 and later, the custom fan curve stopped responding at all. The fans run louder and are locked to automatic behavior, even though NitroSense allows me to change the settings — the changes just don’t take effect.

This doesn’t seem to be a hardware problem:

The fans are physically fine — no strange noises, spinning normally.

    Temperatures are within safe limits.

The issue started exactly after updating the BIOS.

So it’s clearly a firmware issue — likely something changed in how the BIOS controls fan profiles or communicates with NitroSense. I hope Acer can acknowledge this and release a fix or allow more control over fan behavior in future BIOS updates.

Please forward this to your technical team. I’m not the only user with this exact problem after BIOS 1.15+.

    Thanks.
