"DiskPart failed to clear disk attributes" on brand new Acer v15 ANV15-41 laptop

When I try to delete any file inside a downloaded folder I got from online, I can't delete the files inside it. As the picture shows below, these folders are a part of a larger folder, which is a mod for a game. It only shows these options. There is no delete option at all. I tried the CMD app and entered the line to check the drive attributes to make it able to permit me to delete this file. It gave me "DiskPart failed to clear disk attributes". This is on a brand new Acer v15 ANV15-41 laptop that I bought.

It seems like the files within the downloaded folder are not deleting because they might be in use, locked, or have permissions issues. Here's a breakdown of potential reasons and solutions:

    1. File in Use:
      Problem:
The file might be open in another application or program, preventing its deletion.
      Solution:
Close any programs that could be accessing the file, especially those related to downloads or media.
    2. File Locked:
      Problem:
Sometimes files are intentionally locked by the system or a program to prevent accidental changes.
      Solution:
Restart your computer. This often releases file locks. If that doesn't work, try unlocking the file manually (see below).
    3. Permissions Issues:
Problem: You might not have the necessary permissions to delete the files.
      Solution:
Change Ownership: You may need to change the ownership of the files to your user account, then grant yourself delete permissions.
Administrator Account: Log in with an administrator account, as it often has broader permissions.
    4. Finder Bug (Mac):
      Problem:
A bug in the Finder application on macOS could be interfering with deletion.
      Solution:
Restart the Finder application or try deleting the files from a different file manager.
    5. Hard Drive Issues (Windows):
Problem: There might be errors on your hard drive that are preventing file deletion.
Solution: Run a disk check and repair any errors using the Command Prompt (Windows).
    6. Command Prompt Deletion (Windows):
      Problem:
If you can't delete files through the interface, try using the Command Prompt.

Hi You can delete downloaded folders or files (see picture), use Edge browser to download and right click on the folder or file.

You may be in the "Recent" folder not in the actual File Explorer folder.

It still doesn't work. I'm in the actual file explorer folder, and it doesn't work. I realize I can't make any new folders in a downloaded file, even if I make a copy of it.

I think I have solved it. It seems like I had to extract the whole file first. It was a compressed zip folder, and I had to extract it before modifying the file. Thanks for giving me some advice! So why is it that I have to extract a file first before I can modify it? I didn't have this problem before on a previous laptop.

Thank you so much, I realized it was because of reason #2. I had to unblock the downloaded file before I could change it. Thank you!
