What is your laptops model number, as asking a question about an individual key for a laptop its crucial that you are more detailed and tell us your latops model number, as they have different keys and mechanisms.

But anyway, try and do this first as your "R Key" could be stuck, so clean the key with a circuitry spray cleaner and try to fee it up that way, if that doesn't work, its mechanism assembly parts are broken and have made this stop working, you can get replacement keys from places like Laptop Key Replacements or LaptopKey so try these places out as they should have your laptops R key, if they don't then you will need to either buy a new keyboard or the whole upper case and keyboard sealed unit. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

If your "R" key isn't working, you can try some troubleshooting steps, starting with simple solutions like restarting your computer, cleaning the keyboard, and checking for sticky keys or other software conflicts. If the problem persists, you may need to investigate further, including updating or reinstalling the keyboard driver, or even potentially replacing the keyboard.
    Troubleshooting Steps:
Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches.
Check the keyboard's physical connection: Ensure the keyboard is properly connected (wired or wireless) and that the batteries are charged if it's a wireless keyboard.
Clean the keyboard: Dust, crumbs, or debris could be hindering the key's functionality.
Check for Sticky Keys: If Sticky Keys is enabled, it can require you to press keys multiple times, making it seem like they're not working.
Run a malware scan: Malware can sometimes interfere with keyboard functionality.
Update or reinstall keyboard drivers: Go to Device Manager, find your keyboard, and update or uninstall/reinstall the driver.
Try the keyboard on another computer: If the issue persists on another computer, it's likely a hardware problem with the keyboard itself.
Consider a keyboard reset (if applicable): Some keyboards have a reset function that can be triggered by pressing a specific key (like ESC) while unplugging and replugging the keyboard.
Check for software conflicts: Some programs (like auto-hotkeys) might be intercepting keystrokes. Uncheck or disable the problematic program to see if it resolves the issue.
Consider replacing the keyboard: If all other troubleshooting steps fail, the "R" key or the keyboard itself might be physically damaged.
