The Aspire V5-471 model is a 7 years old laptop and Acer has stopped all support for this model and will never ever update its bios. The reason that the bios doesn't update is because the bios is either the wrong bios version for your laptop or its corrupt.

I suggest that if your V5-471 laptop is working properly to not try to update the bios to a new version, as by doing an update to such an old laptop you could brick the bios chip and you will need to either replace the bios chip with a new chip (see eBay for replacement bios chips) or get it reprogrammed. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

For other drivers and bios versions for the Aspire V5-471 laptop, try HelpDrivers as they have available 144 files for Acer Aspire V5-471 and should have a version 2.18 bios, so try their version if it installs.

This is the V5-471 bios battery and bios chip, try to change the bios battery first and see if the chip accepts the v2.18 bios.

Hi, this legacy laptop from 2013 is no longer supported by Acer and Microsoft. Also on 3rd-party sites there are no drivers or BIOS anymore available for this model.

The Aspire V5-471 bios does support UEFI and it uses the GUID (GPT) format for its drives also. UEFI on these laptops started with the 2012 V3-571G model which I own since new and when I bought my V3-571G, it had a normal MBR/legacy bios that later on Acer also released this model with the UEFI GUID (GPT) bios versions, and there is a hack that converts the V3-571G bios to UEFI and the GUID (GPT) type format, as I applied that hack to my V3-571G bios and its been working perfectly as a UEFI laptop and on Win10 Pro without missing a beat.
