Acer Predator Connect T7, can't join an EasyMesh, no bridge mode, can't disable DHCP server

I bought a new Acer Predator Connect T7, naively thinking it will just work. Unfortunately, after firmware updating it and setting it to Mesh Agent mode, it will not join the EasyMesh from my ISP router of a different brand, neither through LAN cable or WPS. (Although strangely it did seem to appear in the ISP router mesh before updating, but didn't really work).

There is also no option to set it to bridge mode in quick setup, and the option to disable the DHCP server in the LAN tab isn't working, with the router still assigning IP addresses using DHCP despite disabling the toggle.

I can't use the router like this… It needs to work as a bridge only as a DHCP client, not DHCP server, or the Wi-Fi Mesh mode needs to work to achieve a similar configuration, although it seems to not work, maybe it doesn't really support EasyMesh despite all modern routers really supporting it…

I'm regretting this purchase as it stands, as I simply have bought a brick that won't work…

Based on what I found, it could be that the T7 doesn’t fully support cross-brand EasyMesh networks, even though modern routers generally do. You might need to manually configure it as an access point if possible.

Check the user manual to see if there are any specific steps for setting up a mesh network or troubleshooting connectivity issues. the user manual contain setup instructions, including Mesh network creation and WAN/LAN settings. Predator Connect T7 User Manual

According to the manual, there are steps for creating a Mesh network and different Mesh topologies. If your ISP router is of a different brand, cross-brand EasyMesh compatibility might be an issue.Try resetting the T7 and setting it up again.

Bridge Mode & DHCP Issues. The Quick Setup wizard does not seem to have a direct Bridge Mode option. If disabling DHCP server in the LAN tab isn’t working, try to manually setting a static IP for the T7. Checking WAN settings to see if there’s an option for NAT pass-through or DMZ mode.Restarting the router after making changes.

If none of these steps work, it might be worth reaching out to Acer's customer support

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
