Hi, this 2021 laptop may have a busted CPU fan, easy and cheap to replace, you can check the fan motor resistivity with a multimeter when you unplug the fan cable, if measured infinite that does not change when you turn the fan blade with your finger you need to replace it: LAPTOP CPU FAN FOR ACER Nitro 5 AN517-41 AN517-52 AN515-44 AN515-45 AN515-55 PH315-53 AN515-56 AN515-57 CPU COOLING FAN - AliExpress 7

Visit the Windows Memory Diagnostic and run the test to check the memory errors. You can also check and update the BIOS if it's outdated. Try to use some monitor temperature controlling tools to avoid overheating, especially while playing games.

If your Acer Nitro 5 is crashing while gaming and the fans are stopping, it's likely due to overheating or a hardware issue. Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

    1. Overheating:
      Check the fans:
Make sure the fans are actually turning on and spinning. If they're not, or if they're spinning abnormally, you might need to clean them or have them repaired.
      Monitor temperatures:
Use NitroSense or another monitoring tool to check the CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming. If temperatures are consistently high (above 80-90°C), the laptop may be shutting down to prevent damage.
      Repaste:
If temperatures are high, you might need to replace the thermal paste on the CPU and/or GPU.
      Cooling pad:
Use a cooling pad to help dissipate heat.
    2. Hardware Issues:
Failing GPU: A failing GPU can cause crashes and instability.
Loose connections: Check the power adapter connection and other connections.
Driver problems: Outdated or corrupt drivers can also cause issues.
    3. Software Issues:
Background applications: Close unnecessary background applications that might be consuming resources.
Game files: Corrupt game files can cause crashes.
Windows updates: Ensure you have the latest Windows updates installed.
BIOS updates: Check for BIOS updates for your Nitro 5.
      Troubleshooting Steps:
Clean the fans: Use compressed air to blow out dust from the vents and fans.
Update drivers: Update your graphics drivers and other drivers from the manufacturer's website.
Check for BIOS updates: Check the Acer website for BIOS updates for your specific model.
Check temperatures: Monitor the CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming to see if they're consistently high.
Repaste: If temperatures are high, consider repasting the CPU and/or GPU with thermal paste from a reputable source.
Check power adapter: Ensure the power adapter is connected securely.
Check for corrupt files: Run a system file check to check for corrupted system files.
Factory reset: If all else fails, you can try a factory reset.
Contact Acer support: If you're still having issues, contact Acer support for help.
