Why did my Acer Nitro 17 laptop screen stop turning on?

Recently, all of a sudden my laptop screen has gone black and despite adjusting all the settings I can't get it to turn on. When the HDMI is plugged into my monitor, the laptop works fine without the laptop screen being on, but it will not duplicate or turn on my laptop. I recently installed a Samsung 990 pro SSD, but had no issues after installation. I have no idea why the laptop screen is not turning on. I've done a bunch of restarts. When I unplugged the HDMI and tried to turn the laptop on without the monitor the laptop continuously restarts.

Your Acer laptop screen may not be turning on due to several reasons, such as hardware issues, software glitches, or power problems. A concise solution would be to try these steps: Perform a hard reset by holding the power button for 30 seconds.
A faulty display device or video adapter can prevent a computer from displaying images, resulting in a black screen. This is often the case when the PC produces sounds normally but cannot project any visuals. Make sure the video cable connecting your Acer monitor to your laptop or desktop is securely plugged in at both ends.

Do a Hard Reset first, as and if the screen is not coming on it could be because of the EC or Chipset chips that might be frozen or a faulty ram that are restricting your screen from coming on. To do a hard reset follow the guide below, if that doesn't work then take your laptop to a technician so they can pinpoint the exact problem with your laptop as it could be a more complex issue like a shorted or fried NVidia dedicated gpu that is restricting the graphics on your laptop and your laptop needs to be set so that only the cpu graphics will work and make the laptop give an image.

The last thing that could be wrong is either a faulty eDP cable or a faulty screen, also look at the screen if its back lights are not blown, as you can still see a faint image in the background if that is happening and then you will need a new screen. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Hard Reset - Remove the eleven (11) screws securing the lower case to the upper case of your Nitro 17 laptop, starting from the upper side, pry to release the upper side latches, continue releasing the remaining latches. Then remove the lower case.

Press the power key for 15 seconds to release all power to the laptop and then disconnect the main battery cable from the mainboard, then take the main battery out. Then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then short the bios batteries + & - pins at the mainboard plug (as shown at A below) to reset CMOS and then take all the ran out.

Leave the laptop like that for at least 30min so that EC and Chipset chips reset completely and then reconnect everything, if you have 2x ram modules, only connect 1x ram module and alternate the two ram modules and see if its not the ram that is faulty, as the laptop should turn on and boot properly with an image on the screen.
