How can I return my Acer laptop for memory replacement? It keeps crashing!

My Acer Aspire 3 A315-59 has periodically crashed on me since I bought it in February 2025. I've ensured Windows is up to date and run tests such as Virus scans - all checked out, but still, it can periodically crash.

Today we ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool mdsched via the Run window, having been advised to try it, and it almost immediately reported there is a hardware error and that I need to return it to the manufacturer for repair.

I also have a popup saying, "Windows Memory Diagnostic - your computer has a memory problem" as I type this, possibly from running RAM and NVMe tests via Acer Sense (which unhelpfully reported they were 'Good')

SERIAL: NXK6SEK007XXXXXXXXXX

SNID: XXXXXXXXXX

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the clear explanation — it sounds like your Acer Aspire 3 A315-59 has a faulty RAM module or memory slot. If the Laptop Is Still Under Warranty most likely, since it's from Feb 2025, contact Acer Support. Acer worldwide Mention that Windows Memory Diagnostic shows a RAM error. Include a screenshot of the error if possible. Avoid opening the laptop yourself — it may void your warranty.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

If your Acer Aspire 3 A315-59 is crashing periodically, the issue could be related to hardware, software, or a combination of both. To troubleshoot, start by checking for RAM issues, updating drivers, and ensuring the laptop is properly ventilated to prevent overheating.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

    1. RAM Issues:
Symptoms: System freezes, crashes, or displays error messages related to memory.
Troubleshooting: Run Windows Memory Diagnostic to check for RAM errors. If errors are found, contact Acer support, as a faulty RAM module or memory slot is likely the cause.
    2. Driver Issues:
Symptoms: Crashes, particularly after installing new software or updates.
Troubleshooting: Update graphics card drivers and other device drivers to the latest versions.
    3. Overheating:
      Symptoms:
Fan noise, sudden shutdowns, or performance issues, especially when running demanding programs.
      Troubleshooting:
Ensure the laptop is properly ventilated. Consider using a cooling pad and cleaning the laptop's vents to prevent dust buildup.
    4. Other Potential Issues:
Software conflicts: Uninstall recently installed software or updates that may be causing problems.
BIOS issues: Reset the BIOS to default settings.
Hard drive problems: Check for hard drive errors using the disk management tool.
    5. If the problem persists:
Consider a professional repair: If the problem is not easily resolved with the above steps, a hardware or software issue may be more serious and require professional diagnosis and repair.

Some further advice for you, don't try to fix anything and especially open the back of the laptop or do anything that a software can crash the laptop that could void the Acer warranty, as a new laptop should not have these problems and/or any faulty ram issues. Send your Aspire A315-59 back to Acer Tech Support in your country and get the Acer technicians to change the mainboard of your Aspire A315-59 laptop under warranty for a new board. Good luck.
