I bought a secondhand Acer T310 F3, no Hard Drive, No RAM.

Bought RAM and A Hard Drive. Press the power switch, fans turn on, green LED flashes on Mother board.

But no beeps, no out to screen.

Any ideas?

If you are facing some issues even after adding RAM and a hard drive. Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:
Ensure the RAM you installed is compatible with the motherboard. Make sure the RAM modules are properly seated in the slots. Try using one module at a time in different slots to rule out faulty RAM or slots.

If the CPU is not seated correctly or has thermal paste issues, it could prevent the system from booting. Carefully reseat the CPU and check for any bent pins. Some motherboards require an external speaker to produce beep codes. If you don't have one connected, you might not hear any error beeps.
Clear the CMOS by removing the battery for a few minutes or using the jumper on the motherboard. This can reset any incorrect BIOS settings. Ensure the power supply is delivering adequate power to the system. A weak or failing PSU can cause similar issues.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, the issue might lie with the motherboard itself.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Thanks for the info. The system health led is orange.

Have tried clearing the bios settings and resetting the ram.

Will start going through the other things.

Please check if you have the memory modules of same specification. This model support DDR3L memory modules.

This is the RAM I bought. Which I think is correct.

On system health I'm getting solid amber. Critical or none recoverable condition... Possibly PSU fault.

The Acer Altos T310 F3 server works on 4x DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz 240-pin UDIMM ECC Unbuffered type ram and support maximum 32GB, so make sure that the ram modules that you bought are the correct ones. Also make sure that you have the 2018/04/1 bios version P08 installed and not the release bios version.

This server has 4x SATA 6GB/s (Mini SAS) slots and 2x 3GB/s SATA slots so make sure that you bought the correct drive for this server also. good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Go to the Aussie site called mware.com.au or RamCity (that are bit more expensive) as they all will ship these 8GB DDR3 1600MT/s (PC3-12800) SDRAM, malware sell these ram modules for AUD $23.95 (NZD $25.59 each) to you in New Zealand, I’m in Sydney Australia so I know that all Australian ram Stuckists will ship to New Zealand. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

@StevenGen BIOS runing on it is P04 11/24/201.. I cant find any release notes on P08 do you know what the updates included?

There is no description for what bios version P08 does, but this is a genuine Acer bios update for your initial bios version P04 as Acer only has "BIOS_Acer_P08" as a description, so download this version and install it into your server, as this bios version is the last for this server model, as I suggest that you download and install this version for best compatibility and performance of your Altos T310 F3 server. Good luck.

The issue with your Acer T310 F3, where the fans turn on, the green LED flashes, but there are no beeps or output to the screen, likely indicates a problem with the motherboard or RAM. A corrupted or failing motherboard can prevent the computer from booting and producing any output. If the RAM is not properly seated or is faulty, it can also prevent the system from starting.
Here's a breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    1. Basic Checks:
      Ensure all connections are secure:
Verify that the power cable, monitor cable (HDMI or VGA), and any other peripherals are properly connected.
      Check the monitor:
Make sure the monitor is powered on and that the correct input source is selected. Try a different monitor or cable to rule out monitor problems.
      Try a different power outlet:
Ensure the power outlet is functioning correctly by trying a different outlet.
    2. Resetting the System:
Hard reset: Unplug the power cable and hold the power button down for 30-60 seconds to discharge any remaining power. Reconnect the power cable and try again
    3. Checking RAM:
      Reseat the RAM:
If you have access to the RAM slots, try reseating the RAM modules. Remove them, clean the gold contacts with a soft brush or eraser, and reinsert them firmly into the slots, according to a post on Reddit.
      Try a different RAM slot:
If possible, try moving the RAM to a different slot to see if it resolves the issue, as mentioned on Reddit.
    4. Investigating the Motherboard:
      Visual inspection:
If you are comfortable opening the computer case, inspect the motherboard for any signs of damage, such as burnt components or capacitors.
      Check the power supply:
A faulty power supply can also prevent the computer from starting. Try testing the power supply with another computer or a known-good power supply.
    5. Advanced Troubleshooting:
Check the BIOS: If possible, try to access the BIOS settings (usually by pressing a specific key, like F2 or Del, during startup). If you can access the BIOS, you can check for any error messages or settings that might be causing the issue.
Consider a motherboard replacement: If you suspect the motherboard is the issue, it may need to be replaced.
      Important Notes:
Safety first: Always disconnect the power cable before opening the computer case.
Seek professional help: If you are not comfortable with these troubleshooting steps, it's best to seek help from a qualified technician.
Consult the manual: Refer to your Acer T310 F3's user manual for specific troubleshooting instructions and diagrams.
