What caused Bluetooth, Webcam & Fingerprint sensor stop working after uninstalling USB driver?

Hello !

So I have an Acer Swift SF314-52-35S8. I uninstalled a usb driver in order to make it work with a new usb key I had ; it worked. However, since then, 3 things stopped working : bluetooth, HD WebCam and the sensory finger touch or whatever it is called.

I uninstalled their drivers, rebooted my pc, installed new drivers from internet, accessed the BIOS to make it by default, I tried a lot of things… But, in my device manager, they still have a yellow rectangle next to them, and some of them are even called "Unknown device" (instead of Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for example).

When I update one of those drivers, whatever I do, I always get the following message : "Windows found drivers for your device, but encountered an error while trying to install them."

I have another issue, which might be linked, so :

It has been a couple of months (maybe more) since I could not get Windows Update to install "Windows 10, version 22H2". It always had an error message when it got to the end.

It is not the only update that isn't working, I have, for example, "Intel Corporation - Bluetooth - 4/7/2017 12:00:00 AM - 19.60.0.3" with "Status - Download Error - 0x00703f1". It is always the same error on everything. Once again, I tried many things to solve it, I followed a lot of advices on internet, and I thought it might have an effect or restored some things ; However, I still have the same problem.

Please, If you know anything about how to solve my issue, I would be very thankful, I really don't know what to do anymore.

Hi, Windows 10 feature updates like 22H2 are no longer being released. The final version of Windows 10 is 22H2, which will reach end of servicing on October 14, 2025. Microsoft now focuses on monthly quality updates for Windows 10.
To restore the system I recommend using System Protection if that is enabled, type Create a restore point in Search and click on System restore with a date before you had the problems:

Don't install drivers from the internet, only install the oem initial Acer Swift SF314-52 drivers like the Bluetooth Intel 19.60.0 version and with the camera driver, you should refresh the driver within Device Manager and use the driver for the camera from there, with the fingerprint driver use the Acer initial oem EGISTEC version 3.5.3.10 driver that Acer provides for this laptop, as all these drivers should install perfectly.

With the Win-10 22H2 update use the standalone update for the last Win-10 "April 22, 2025—KB5055612 (OS Build 19045.5796) Preview" from the windows catalogue. But your system must comply with the below updates before this OS build will install. Good luck and hope this helps you out to solve these problems.

    Before you install this update

Based on your installation scenario, choose one of the following:

    • If your image does not have the July 25, 2023 (KB5028244) or later LCU, you must install the special standalone October 13, 2023 SSU (KB5031539) before installing this update.
    • If your devices do not have the May 11, 2021 (KB5003173) or later LCU, you must install the special standalone August 10, 2021 SSU (KB5005260) before installing this update.

If the Bluetooth driver doesn't install there could also be a problem with the Wi-Fi/BT card below, which is the oem Acer fitted card for the Swift SF314-52 laptop.

Thank you both for your answers!

To @Puraw : Unfortunaly, I didn't had any restore point prior to my problem. I still tried to do it with the oldest one, but it didn't work.

To StevenGen : Yeah, when I said "on the internet", I meant the drivers you are linking me. And yes, the drivers seem to be installed, however it doesn't work and they appear as not functionning in the device manager. I refreshed the drivers there but I got the same error message as I mentionned before  "Windows found drivers for your device, but encountered an error while trying to install them."

Maybe using the standalone update for the last Win-10 "April 22, 2025—KB5055612 (OS Build 19045.5796) Preview" will solve this (even though I find it weird since the problem occured way after I got the Windows Update issue). But I don't know how to check which LCU I have. Could you explain it to me please ?

Finally, I might be wrong, but I really don't think the Wi-Fi/BT card is the problem here, as other component are facing the same issue than my bluetooth, and because it all started when I uninstalled a USB driver.
