Evening everyone,

I've been looking for a long time for an Acer accessory to buy that will enhance my Acer Swift laptop but I'm not sure what's available?

This is my Acer laptop model:

This is the model: Acer Swift 3 SF314-43-R73Q

Is there a list of items I can buy from Acer?

Thanks

I was more thinking of hardware products that would speed up my Acer laptop like a new SSD or being able to add more RAM???

I read this thread and it seems that it's possible to upgrade RAM to 12GB? I currently have 8GB.

Below is the upgrade info: You cannot upgrade the RAM. your laptop can have either 8 or 16 GB RAM which is soldered on the motherboard.

And, of course, you can put a much larger drive than just the 1TB they offered pre-installed, if you wish. Note that the slot is 3.0, so don't pay extra from a 4.0 drive since it will run at 3.0 speeds.

Is it possible to know how much of an improvement I'd see by getting a new SSD? Or would the performance gain be negligible?

I'd like to install the SSD myself. How hard is it to do? Is this even possible with Acer laptops??? 😰

Which SSD would you recommend for me? My current SSD is what came with my Acer Swift laptop but it's over 2 years old now…

You won't see a big speed improvement by putting a larger SSD in to replace the existing SSD. What you will have is more room to grow. I typically use as a rule of thumb that I need to drop a bigger drive in to any system that runs over about 2/3 full. Other enhancements typically come first, unless your base machine has a HDD instead of SSD, then the SSD upgrade is the first thing on the list.

So there isn’t much I can do to increase the performance of this Acer laptop?

Would the best thing for me to do would be to buy a new Acer laptop?
I’d like to buy a premium Acer laptop this time!

    What can you recommend??

Well, of course, any of the newer designs will have better performance than your four year old model. Performance needed is going to rely a lot on what you use it for. If you are just running Windows and doing browsing you don't need the same specs as if you are doing video editing or heavy gaming. The first thing for most laptops is memory, your 8GB is baseline for a W11 machine and the more apps you have active the higher the memory needs. If you were purchasing a new system I'd suggest 16GB for most people and 32GB for intensive use. Storage is the next thing to look at. The newest models use PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe drives, which are about twice as fast as the old PCIe 3.0 models. 1-2TB is plenty for most users, you will likely run low on storage if you have under 500GB.
