I have and acer spin 314-54N and the pen and touchscreen are not working. This is the only thing that isn't working. The I2C HID Device driver gives me error code 10. Is there any way that I can fix this.

Error Code 10 usually indicates that the device cannot start due to driver issues.
Here are a few steps you can try to fix it:

    Update or Reinstall the Driver
Open Device Manager Press Win + X and select Device Manager. Expand Human Interface Devices and find I2C HID Device. Right-click and select Update driver → Search automatically for drivers.
If that doesn’t work, try Uninstall device, restart your laptop, and let Windows reinstall the driver.

You can also download and install the Acer official chipset and IO drivers here SP314-54N downloads

Also, Check Windows Updates, Go to Settings → Windows Update and install any pending updates. Sometimes, Windows updates include fixes for driver-related issues.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

I've tried all of these and none of them have fixed my issue.

Hi, if you have recently upgraded to Windows11 24H2, consider reinstalling the 23H2 version and wait for a BIOS update as the BIOS version is 4 years old or try to restore the system to a date when Touchpad was still working, type Create a restore point in Search and click on System Restore with a date:

Okay so this model of computer is a touchscreen and comes with a pen. Both of them do not work because of the driver error. I'm trying to get them back working.

For your SP314-54N, go to Acer's support site and download the chipset drivers, the serial IO drivers and the HID event filter drivers. Install them all, forcing the install over the old ones if needed. Remove that device from Device Manager once they have been reinstalled and reboot. Check to see if that clears it up. The I2C hardware is part of the base chipset, so no way to repair if it's actually bad, but most likely one of the drivers is corrupt.

As @Puraw mentioned - if you tried everything driver-related and doesn't help, it might be recent Windows update which caused touchscreen failure. I remember on daughter's HP 840 G1 laptop that keyboard and touchpad stopped working after some Win11 update (but both worked in BIOS !! ) so I had to downgrade to older Win version and fixed ;-) I don't know if touchscreen functionality is available also in BIOS, but pls try it to verify that HW itself isn't broken
