Touch pad does not work.

I found out that to solve the problem you need to update the BIOS.

But nothing is downloaded here

Error 404

How can I get the latest BIOS for my laptop?

Try pressing FN+F7 if on Win10. Touchpad may not work if on Win11.

Thanks for the answer, but it doesn't work.
I reinstalled Windows, installed various drivers.
I disassembled and reconnected the touchpad cable.
All that's left is to update the BIOS, but there's no way to download it :(

    BIOS shouldn't be a problem in Win10.

See this site here as they have available 39 files for Acer Aspire E5-511G and all the drivers are there, Acer has stopped support for the Aspire E5-511G model. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

felipeslima07 Sorry. A BIOS update is unlikely to resolve your touchpad issue. BIOS updates are no longer being developed for many older models such as yours. You may have a touchpad hardware issue or Windows 11 is unable to detect it.

A touchpad that's not responding on an Acer Aspire E5-511G after a Windows 10 upgrade can often be resolved by updating or reinstalling the touchpad drivers, enabling the touchpad in settings, or restarting the computer.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Touchpad Settings:
      Enable Touchpad:
Press the Windows key + X, go to Settings, click on Devices, then Touchpad, and ensure the touchpad is enabled.
      Adjust Sensitivity and Other Options:
Explore the touchpad settings to see if any adjustments are needed for responsiveness.
    2. Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers:
Update Through Windows Update: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
Update Through Device Manager: Press Windows key + X, go to Device Manager, expand Mice and other pointing devices, right-click the touchpad driver, and choose "Update driver".
Download from Manufacturer's Website: If updating through Windows doesn't work, visit the Acer support website and download the latest touchpad driver for your specific model.
    3. Restart Your Computer:
A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches.
    4. Check for Hardware Conflicts:
      Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter:
In the search bar, type "Troubleshooting" and select "Hardware and Devices".
      Check Device Manager for Errors:
In Device Manager, check for any exclamation marks next to the touchpad device, which may indicate a hardware issue.
    5. Reset Touchpad Settings to Default:
In Settings, go to Devices > Touchpad and scroll down to "Reset touchpad to default".

OK. Win10 seems to detect the old touchpad hardware but can't identify a newer driver software. So download, install and run iobit's Driver Booster freeware to see if it can find a suitable driver for this older touchpad. Then open Device Manager again to see if the yellow warning symbol for the HID I2C device disappears.
