I have purchased a new Aspire TC-1780 desktop and it's a piece of junk. The screen keeps freezing, when typing, words are incomplete due to the computer being too slow. Its brand new yet seems to be on its last legs already.

Hi, you can return it to the retailer in 14 days after delivery and claim a refund, in the Philippines that is one week.

The Acer Aspire TC-1780 desktop is NOT junk, as you need to know how to set this desktop up, as and due to this desktop using the Intel 13th Gen cpu's that have an Intel cpu microcode problem, you MUST update this desktops bios to its last version R01-B1 that fixes the "INTEL Microcode 0x12B update for the Intel 13th and 14th Generation CPU issue" so do that first, as its essential. make sure that you first read the bios Appendix PDF bios update guide of how to update the bios and follow that WIN guide exactly for a proper bios update.

Afterwards, make sure that you have all the Win-11 24H2 version updated to all the updates and to the last OS build: 26100.3915, and if you have a dedicated graphics card fitted as an option, make sure that you install the latest driver for that card also, as doing all this is essential and will stop your Aspire TC-1780 from freezing and overheating which is causing these faults. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Thanks for that. I cant follow your instructions ?? I try and open he file and windows defender wont let it run ? Also You seem to have yours in quick access which I cant find on my desktop and I cant find a run as administrator option either.

I only have very basic knowledge of using a computer. If this is needed for the desktop to work properly them Acer should have done it all. Expecting users to tinker with software changes is poor customer service to say the least.

It's now being returned with a full refund agreed. No one should be expected to buy a new computer and then up date various aspects of the software over and above the software updates that are automatically installed when updating software via system updates.

Have you called Acer or your dealer ?

Be sure to unplug all of you added devices like mouse/keyboard, Bluetooth etc as they'll advise you.

They'll most likely walk you through an update too. Good Luck.

Have you added any software since you bought it ?
