Bent pins on my socket of my motherboard whilst trying to prep for cooler upgrade.

Short on money as i’m a uni student and need a solution for my predator orion 3000 po3 640

Should i upgrade the motherboard entirely and is there one that will fit and work with all the current components minus the mobo or do i have to buy a new case and psu entirely.

The components are i7-12700f with an RTX 3060 and comes with an SSD and NVme and a 500W psu and i have 32gb 8x4 ddr4 cl22 3200mhz ram installed

As i mentioned i was already about to prep for a cpu cooler upgrade as the temps were high but now the socket of the mobo is bent/broken it won’t work at all.

Need help on what i can affordably do whilst salvaging as much as possible

If the bent pins are only slightly damaged, it's sometimes possible to carefully bend them back into place using a fine tool like tweezers. However, this is a tricky process, and there's a risk of making it worse. If you're unsure or the damage is significant, it's safer to move on to replacing the motherboard.

You do not have to replace your case, PSU, or other parts — as long as the new motherboard fits your case size and your PSU has the needed connectors.

This model Predator PO3-640 came with three types of motherboard. You can google the part numbers to check the availability in your region.

The Acer PO3-640 oem Socket 1700 with its B660/ALC897 chipset/audio mainboards are like USD $244.02 new from an Acer parts retailer to replace, so its not too bad a price to replace, see this link here or use the mainboard Acer part numbers above to search for a board in your area that you can get shipped to you.

As replacing your damaged cpu pins board, is an easy task to do as you can use all the existing components and just swap them over systematically off the damaged board, as its the best path to take to get your PO3-640 desktop repaired and working. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.
