My dads old computer was on it's last leg, and it was an Acer Aspire T series that last over a decade. So naturally, he wanted another Acer. I picked out this Acer Nitro N60-640-UR11 at Microcenter on sale, thinking this was a great purchase for what he needs.

Well now I'm regretting it because it seems Acer discontinued it and all support; I can't even register the product or find any information on it on their website. This model does not even appear. Virtually nothing to be found online about this!! So frustrating.

How can I change the RGBs on the computer? The mouse, keyboard, computer fans, and RAM are all permanently set to a freaking rainbow scheme. WTF IS THIS!! The keyboard it came with doesn't even work properly; no ability to change the colors at all. The manual is misleading because there AREN'T colors cycling through. It's on, off, or rainbow. Same goes for the mouse.

It came with none of the software their other models have to change the RGBs on the computer either. Literally nothing. And half the Acer apps installed don't work or seem to have been shut down. Found a bunch of applications in the files and guess how many of them work, maybe one or two. Why?

Uninstalled Plenet9 by accident, now I'm wondering if it had any RGB settings in there. But I can't find it anywhere now to reinstall it.

This is the lamest purchase ever and I feel so bad about it like I misled my dad into a bad computer.

Do I return the PC and exchange it for something else? What should I do, what are my options? I can't believe this I really can't. Why is Acer selling PCs they don't support anymore? Why are they dropping support for modern products in the first place? Unreasonable, so unreal. Please help if you can.

The Nitro N60-640 doesn't use the Nitro Sense Acer software for fan speed and RGB colour changes, this desktop is a new prebuilt Acer desktop and we don't have any documentation on this desktop ourselves.

Be aware that Acer community ranked ACE member have access to most of the Acer products service guides but for the Nitro N60-640 desktop, there is nothing except the Acer USA store N60-640 specification details and the Acer Product Support where you can access drivers, bios and documents.

So look at the N60-640 PDF Users Manual or store specs but they don't have anything on the RGB functions which is not available and can't be changed except to what Acer has set the oem RGB to. Good luck and hope this helps you out some more.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply to me with what information you have, however, it does not help me in this situation. Good to know, but it just makes me question Acer even more.

So they have proprietary software to control these things, put the features on the desktop, but don't include the software or support? Why is there no support for this desktop? Quite silly and ridiculous.

The answer to my problem was OpenRGB. 100% solved the issue. I installed it along with Gigabyte's RGB Fusion since they make the motherboard in this. The RGB Fusion controls the RAM stick, and then OpenRGB controls the fans and mouse. I replaced the keyboard as the included one is half-baked and quite dumb. Good quality physically but poor execution.

To anyone reading, I do not recommend buying an Acer product and this will be my last. Especially more so if they have RGBs. Terrible design with zero forethought.

If you cannot change the RGB lighting on your Acer Nitro N60-640-UR1, it's likely because the specific model or its software (NitroSense) doesn't support RGB customization for the keyboard or other lights. Some older models may only have static, non-adjustable lighting.
Here's a breakdown of potential reasons and solutions:

    1. Software/Driver Issues:
      NitroSense:
Check if NitroSense (Acer's utility software) has the necessary features for RGB control. Some models may have limited or no RGB customization options within NitroSense.
      Reinstall NitroSense:
If you can't find the RGB options, try reinstalling NitroSense. It might resolve any software glitches.
      Dynamic Lighting:
In Windows settings, navigate to Personalization -> Dynamic Lighting. Ensure the settings are configured correctly and that RGB options are enabled.
    2. Hardware Limitations:
Model Support: Some models, particularly older ones, may not have RGB-adjustable features at all. The keyboard might simply have a static LED light or the RGB feature might only be supported for the logo or certain parts of the chassis.
No RGB-Controllable Strip: Some Acer Nitro models have non-RGB LED strips and cannot be changed.
    3. Other Possible Solutions:
      Registry Edits:
In some cases, modifying registry keys related to NitroSense lighting settings can be helpful. However, proceed with caution as incorrect changes can damage your system.
