MODEL: EX215-54

When the laptop is on, the CPU cooler fan doesn't run all the time, it's turned on automatically?

Yes, the fan is controlled by the CPU temperature sensor. There is only one cooling fan in this laptop.

Your Extensa 215-54G laptop has one cpu fan that cools the cpu and is thermostatically controlled, if the fan does not operate at extreme temps then the fan is faulty and look at replacing this fan for best results, as if you don't, then serious cpu problems can happen and will happen. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

These are the temps that your cpu is set by Acer to so make sure that these temps are adhered to and your laptop cpu does not exceed these temps

    • CPU Turbo off at 85°C
    • CPU Turbo on at 65°C
    • CPU PROCHOT on at 98°C
    • CPU PROCHOT off at 90°C
    • OS shut down at CPU 100°C
    • H/W shut down at PH1=92°C ±3°C

The Extensa 215-54 has one fan and its thermal module only goes to the cpu like shown below and the temps are set like in the list above, there is not much difference to the Extensa 215-54G model with the Nvidia MX350 (TDP: 25W) gpu.
