Uninstall the current Intel graphics driver and then install the initial and first oem Intel graphics driver that Acer installed into your Nitro 5 laptop, you can get this initial driver form the Acer Drivers and Manuals page and then type in whatever your Nitro 5 model number is and get the Intel graphics driver and install that, as this driver will stop the screen flickering and then allow whatever the most compatible driver is that windows update updates this driver to, as doing all this will fix this issue. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Then it could be the eDP cables data strand or plug pins that are damaged and is causing this to happen. Unplug the eDP cable at the mainboard first but before you unplug this plug make sure that the laptops main battery is disconnected first, as if you don't do that, you will damage the laptop and it won't boot.

Try that as the eDP cable is a very important cable for screen functionality and proper image integrity and it if this cables plugs at the mainboard or screen pins are damaged, then you get distortion and all sorts of image irregularities. Otherwise if the eDP cable is good then its the screen that needs changing. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.
