Hi, Windows Vista is from 2007, you can upgrade to W7 or even W8.1 but I have not seen anyone running Windows10 on a 2007 laptop (10-year gap between OS), W10 anniversary version may partly work but you will have major driver and BIOS issues.

After a Windows 10 Upgrade, a keyboard losing all its functions could be due to several reasons, including driver issues, incorrect settings, or a hardware problem. To troubleshoot, try reinstalling the keyboard driver, running the keyboard troubleshooter, and checking the keyboard settings. If the issue persists, you may need to test the keyboard on another device or consider a system restore.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential solutions:

    1. Driver Issues:
      Reinstall Keyboard Driver:
This is the most common fix. You can do this through Device Manager:
Search for "Device Manager" in the Windows Start Menu.
Expand "Keyboards" and find your keyboard driver.
Right-click the driver and select "Uninstall device."
Restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
If the automatic reinstall doesn't work, you can manually update the driver:
Right-click the driver in Device Manager again, and choose "Update driver."
Select "Browse my computer for drivers" and navigate to the driver file (if you have one).
If you don't have a driver file, try downloading the latest driver from your computer manufacturer's website.
      Check for Compatibility:
If you're using a third-party driver or one from an older version of Windows, it might not be compatible with Windows 10. Try searching for a Windows 10-compatible driver.
    2. Keyboard Settings:
      Run Keyboard Troubleshooter:
Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter that can identify and fix keyboard issues.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Additional troubleshooters.
Select "Keyboard" and run the troubleshooter.
      Check Input Language and Layout:
Ensure the correct input language and keyboard layout are selected in Windows settings.
Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
Make sure the correct language and keyboard layout are selected.
      Reset Advanced Keyboard Settings:
Go to Settings > Devices > Typing > Advanced keyboard settings.
Click "Reset" to restore default settings.
    3. Hardware Issues:
      Test on Another Device:
If the keyboard doesn't work on another computer, it may be a hardware problem with the keyboard itself. If it works on another computer, the issue is likely on your computer.
      Check USB Port:
Try plugging the keyboard into a different USB port, especially if it's an external keyboard. Some USB ports may be faulty.
      Check Wireless Receiver:
If it's a wireless keyboard, make sure the USB receiver is connected properly and the batteries are charged.
      Clean the Keyboard:
Sometimes, dirt or debris can cause keys to malfunction. Clean the keyboard gently.
