Acer Swift 3 SF314-512 - need the RIGHT Intel RST driver to reinstall Win11

I am attempting to do a clean Windows 11 install on this Acer Swift 3. I've downloaded the Intel RST drivers from the Acer Support page for this particular Swift, but the install fails to recognize the driver, with the message, "a media driver your computer needs is missing."

Can anyone point me to the RIGHT RST driver so that the install will recognize the new, blank SSD?

Or, can I pull the drivers off the old SSD? It will still boot, but the SSD seems unstable and I'm trying to minimize the number of times I use it.

What you need to do is a Clean Install of Win-11 24H2 and then update to the last OS build: 26100.3775 and to do that and be able to install the IRST driver follow the steps below as that is the only way the IRST driver will be recognized.

    1. Construct a bootable installation drive with Rufus 4.6 and follow their guide exactly as at this link here, as its got a step by stem guide of how to do this USB correctly.
    2. After you have finished the above bootable USB drive put the SF314-512 laptops IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver version 19.5.1.1040 onto the same installation USB.
    3. Then when you get to the windows installation section at "Where do you want to install Windows?" > Load driver > you load the IRST driver above from the installation USB as it will have the correct driver so that your laptop proceeds with the installation.

This is the section where you load the IRST drive at Load driver:

I punted and installed Windows 10 instead. Now, I can't get a LAN driver or a WiFi driver to install, so the laptop does not see the internet. And it won't run the Windows 11 Setup for upgrade. I click on Setup.exe and it asks if I want to run it, I click Yes, and then it disappears.

The Acer Swift 3 SF314-512 is NOT a Win-10 OS laptop that is why if you install Win-10 on this laptop you won't be able to get certain drivers for it, so be aware of this!

As I've described to you above, do a Clen Install of Win-11 24H2 installation with all the updates to the last OS build: 26100.3775 with a Rufus 4.6 bootable USB as Win-11 will install onto the SF314-512 laptop, if it doesn't then you are doing something wrong or you have constructed the Rufus bootable drive wrongly. Try again and follow the Rufus guide that I've given you above. Good luck.

Either of the IRST version on the Acer support site should be fine for installing IRST during the Windows 11 install. Just extract the drivers to a folder on the install flash drive, then install them from that screen that Steven shows. You will have to navigate to the folder you created and it should see them. Once they are installed, your new drive will show up and you can go ahead with the install.

Usually when you are installing a new SSD to replace an older, smaller one it's best to just clone the old one to the new one, so you don't have to deal with driver issues…
