Aspire XC-886 shuts down after adding 8GB DDR4 2666MHz, what the issue could be?

I recently purchased a new ram stick for my PC, making sure that it was the same type as the one it originally came with (Samsung "8GB 1Rx8 PC4 2666v UA2 11"). When I added it to the empty slot, the computer turned on and was working fine for about 5 minutes, in which I took the attached photo, but it then shut down on its own. I had trouble getting it to start normally again: I tried turning it on about 4 times and had to shut it off manually each time (one time it flashed the windows 10 blue screen without any text or symbols on it, on a second try it sounded like a car failing to start its engine), so I took the new ram out and left the original stick in, not wanting to mess with it.

My dad said that it was likely causing a hardware problem considering the noises that it was making, but i don't know how that can be considering every resource i checked said that the processor on this PC could handle a 16GB ram, and could even be upgraded to 32GB (which I don't want to do). Any idea of what the issue could be?

Try cleaning the contacts of the new ram with a pencil eraser and check the female contacts. Otherwise you have a bad part.
