Aspire C24-1650 shows vertical lines on screen but works fine via HDMI, where to buy replacement?

There are vertical lines on my display but the machine is ok when driving a monitor via HDMI. I have heard that the LCD video cable may be faulty. I'm prepared to replace the cable but where can I purchase a new cable?

Replacing the LCD cable in the Aspire C24-1650 can be a bit challenging, as it involves disassembling the all-in-one desktop. You'll need to carefully remove the back panel, disconnect the existing cable, and install the new one. It's important to handle the components gently to avoid damage. If you're comfortable with hardware repairs and have the right tools, you can attempt it yourself. However, if you're unsure, it might be best to seek professional assistance from an Acer accredited repair shop to ensure the replacement is done correctly. I could not find the correct EDP cable on the web.

What's wrong with just using HDMI as it's working ?

That is an all-in one unit.

Are you saying that you use HDMI to a stand alone monitor and all is OK BUT if you use the all-in one monitor that all is OK ??

If you have vertical lines, then likely a an internal loose/dirty t-con cable or the LED/LCD is defective. Good advice would be take to a professional repair person.

The Aspire C24-1650 AIO doesn't have an eDP cable, so its an internal fault or the screen is faulty. if you need to replace the screen then its the "LCD Panel Assembly Acer part #: 056.07062.0241" Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Thank you all for your comments. The all-in-one shows vertical lines on the display (not too clear on the attached photo) but using a TV as a monitor shows, I think, that it's only an issue with the display. I have disassembled and then reseated both ends of the display connector

but that didn't improve things. I suppose I might have been too cautious and could have cleaned the contacts, although I did juggle the cable a little.

My thought was that trying a replacement cable, to see if the problem is fixed, would be cheaper than going straight to display replacement.

I've also searched the web for a replacement cable but without luck.

I think that the screen assembly is BAD, possibly it's been dropped, some scuff marks on the bezel on the right side facing

There are no scuff marks anywhere on the bezel - it's illusionary and probably a defect in my photography. The desktop has not been moved from my desk in six months and not mishandled in the three years since purchased directly from Acer. Perhaps three years is about the life of these machines, their component parts and assembly.

I am sorry but it looks as to have been dropped. Was the display the same when you took it apart?

i see some replacement panels on EBAY But be sure that your numbers match and remember that they are used.

Yes, the display exhibited the same defect after reassembly as before. I've looked at Ebay offerings, which often indicate possible video cable damage.

Take a picture of the cable and numbers off of it .

If it's the t-conn cable they usually just need reseating and cleaning the tarnish off of the contacts if they are the flat copper type. Shopjimmy.com sometimes has those salvaged cables. If no wires are broken then it's probably OK. The t-conn maybe bad too. Is it replaceable? I repaired lots of stuff for 45 years. This could be the t-conn, cable or problem on the panel board. Ebay shows a picture on one of their listing. I'll still bet on the panel itself. Good Luck.

Clean the contacts on both ends of the flat cable that goes to this.

Use alcohol and a pencil eraser to clean the contacts. Spray some De-Oxit cleaner in the female and reseat the male end a few times.

Search Ebay for " t-conn cables" as they show a lots of them.
