Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if someone can help me as I'm getting nowhere! I have an Acer Nitro v15 laptop which seems to have an odd issue where the laptop screen will go black. The keyboards still lit, I can still hear the noise when it boots however the laptops completely blank. When I plug the laptop into a monitor via HDMI it appears as normal and everything works perfectly fine. I've sent it for repair twice, the first time they claimed the EDP Cable wasn't seated correctly and re-seated it. The second time they told me they updated drivers. Both times they've come back from repair and the issues re-occurred. Windows has been reinstalled by me and even whilst it was reinstalling it was having the issue.

Anyone got any idea? Maybe motherboard? The odd thing is its very intermittent, sometimes the laptop screen will appear and work for hours on end without any issues and you'd forget it was even a problem then randomly it will happen when turning the laptop on. Acer Logo ALWAYS appears though before it then goes blank.

Laptop Specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS Processor

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060

16GB RAM

Do you get the black screen as soon as you turn On your laptop?
Do you hear the internal fan running?
Have you performed power reset to check the issue?
If not, try to perform a simple power reset and check the issue. Shutdown the laptop. Disconnect the charger. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device. The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds. Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and power On the laptop.

Sometimes the black screen problem keeps happening because fast startup is enabled on your computer.
While in Safe Mode, you can use the following steps to disable fast startup:
Open Control Panel. Click on System and Security. Click on Power options.
Select the Choose what the power button does link on the left pane.
Click the Change settings that are currently unavailable link.
Clear the Turn on fast startup (recommended) option.
Click Save changes. Restart your computer to complete the task.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
