I have an Acer Predator Orion 5000 PO5-625s, and would like to upgrade the RAM to DDR5, and the CPU too. But its been suggested im limited by the motherboard.

Has anyone been successful in upgrading their PO5-625S?

Your Acer Predator Orion 5000 PO5-625s has an 11th Gen Intel LGA 1200 socket cpu type mainboard and its limited to the Socket 1200 11th Gen Intel cpu's memory specification which is at max DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram.

The Intel DDR5 boards are a totally different board that use only DDR5 type ram and the 11th gen cpu will not work with DDR5 ram you need to fit a Socket LGA-1700 Intel 12th/13th or the latest 14th Gen cpu's type boards into this desktop that can work with DDR5-4800MT.s CL40 or DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 or above seed type ram.

The Acer Predator Orion 5000 PO5-625s desktop has a similar size mATX type mainboard (measure the board before you buy a new 13th or 14th Gen board) so you are lucky that its square and not an Acer proprietary board and it also has a ATXPWR1 24pin ATX PSU that you can easily upgrade to the new and latest modular PSUs that are available on the market today, if you want to upgrade the new board and fit the new NVidia 50 or 40 series gpu's.

If you want to use the PO5-625s Acer case, I suggest that you measure the existing mainboard of the PO5-625s and reference the boards size to the exact board sizes that are available on the market like mATX etc and buy a new 13th or 14th Gen cpu board and as you will also need a new cpu and appropriate DDR5 ram and even upgrade the oem Acer fitted 750W PSU to a new modular 24pin PSU if you need more power for these new 40 or 50 Gen NVidia gpu's.

Do the research and buy these new components to suite your budget and existing equipment that you have, as the existing PO5-625s desktop cant be fitted with DDR5 type ram into the PO5-625s Acer board. Good luck and hope this helps you out in upgrading this desktop,
