Hello!
Im having a issue with my internet when using programs such as skype and LoL, whenever im using these programs i lag. Im not sure if the BIOS upgrade i did is the cause of it, but it started after the BIOS upgrade. But the funny thing is that i don't lag when i browse the internet, watch youtube, and download on Vuze.... Any solutions?

There is nore than one posible cause of your problem. The first thing I would do is check Skype to make sure that you are upgraded to the newest version.

I got the newest version on both programs.

I don't understand how a BIOS upgrade would interfere with some internet programs and not others. Did you install any other programs around the time that you upgraded your BIOS?

I can explain your problem with League of Legends. It is a high-end game that will have problems as soon as interference begins.

Im not 100% sure its because of the BIOS update, and no. No other programs have been installed. What do you mean with intereference ?

By interference I mean that neighbors may be going online near you, and other wireless dvices are drifting out of their assigned areas into your assigned area. It also refers to trees, towers, etc., blocking your signal.

As mentioned elseware, I use INSSIDER (plug) to check the wireless environment and see if anything nearby is using the same channel. The HOME edition is freeware and available for both Windows and Android. Wireless is particulaly sensitive to other strong signals nearby and the only clear US channels in the 2.5GHz range are 1, 6, and 11.

I also check the wireless system speed using http://speedtest.net . On my systems I notice a drop in Wireless speed if a large, high resolution external monitor of TV is connected. The only fix I have found for that is an external WiFi device like the enGenius EUB9603H (plug) or an RJ-45 wired ethernet adapter.

ps if you go with a wired Ethernet adapters, I have found two kinds: for U$6 you can get something like a RD9700 that tops out at about 6 Mb/s or for U$14 a "10/100" adapter that can handle my 45 Mb/s pipe.

We really need a place to put a faq on aftermarket hardware that members find that are useful. The Acer store needs to concentrate on unique items and leave the aftermarket stuff to Amazon and eBay.

In the Automotive world, most manufacturers work closely with SEMA to everyone's benefit.

Im like 3 meters away from the router, my friend uses ethernet. I've never experienced this issue before. I live in Norway, so US stuff doesn't apply to me.

Padgett posted that when he turns on a large TV monitor, it slows down his Wifi. This is one type of the interference that I am talking about. I use DSL at my house and have few problems.
