The Acer Predator Orion 5000 PO5-650 motherboard is upgradable, allowing for upgrades to RAM, storage, and potentially other components, though the CPU and motherboard are a single unit and cannot be upgraded separately.

The motherboard of the Acer Predator Orion 5000 PO5-650 is custom-built to fit the design and layout of the system. Due to this proprietary construction, replacing or upgrading the motherboard is not practical. However, the system supports upgrades to components like RAM, storage, and cooling solutions, which can significantly enhance its performance without altering the motherboard.

A new AM5 motherboard and an RTX 5080 GPU should fit in the PO5-650 case, as long as you ensure the GPU's dimensions and power requirements are compatible with your chosen PSU.

AM5 motherboards are designed for AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors, and they are physically compatible with the PO5-650 case. The RTX 5080 is a high-performance GPU, so ensure your PO5-650 case has enough space for its length and width.

Also, the RTX 5080 is a power-hungry GPU, so make sure your 650W PSU is sufficient for both the GPU and the rest of your system. According to some sources, the RTX 5080 power draw is roughly the same as the RTX 3080 Ti, so a 650W PSU might be enough, but it's recommended to upgrade to an 850W PSU for better stability and headroom. The RTX 5080 will generate a lot of heat, so make sure your case has good airflow and that you have a good CPU cooler.
