What device is the sound not working? If laptop, please mention the full model number?

A simple restart can sometimes resolve audio issues. Ensure the volume isn't muted or set to a very low level.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Check the volume settings by ensuring it is not muted and adjusting the slider using the speaker icon in the taskbar. Verify that the correct output device is selected by right-clicking the speaker icon, selecting Sounds, and confirming the default device under the Playback tab. Run the audio troubleshooter by navigating to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters, selecting Playing Audio, and following the on-screen instructions. Finally, check that your speakers or headphones are properly connected and functioning correctly.

If you are using Windows and after checking the sound settings suggested above and still cannot get sound, the easiest fix is to restore the system to a date when the sound was still working. Type Create a restore point and click on System Restore with a date:

If you have System Protection disabled and never saved any restore points this won't work.

If you're experiencing sound issues on your computer, start by checking the volume levels, ensuring the correct audio device is selected, and verifying that the audio cables are properly connected. If problems persist, consider running the audio troubleshooter or updating your audio drivers.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:-

    1. Basic Checks:
      Volume:
Make sure the volume is turned up on both the computer and any connected speakers or headphones.
      Mute:
Ensure the speaker icon in the taskbar isn't muted and that the volume is not set to zero.
      Audio Device:
Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings" to check which device is selected for audio output.
      Cables:
Ensure all audio cables are securely plugged in.
      Test with different devices:
Try plugging in different speakers or headphones to see if the issue is with the device or the computer.
    2. Advanced Troubleshooting:
      Run the Audio Troubleshooter:
In the Windows search bar, type "audio troubleshooter" and select "Find and fix problems with playing sound".
Follow the on-screen prompts to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue.
      Check Device Manager:
Press the Windows key + X and select "Device Manager".
Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".
Check for any yellow exclamation marks, which indicate a problem with the audio device or driver.
If you find a problem, try updating or reinstalling the driver.
      Restart your computer:
Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve audio issues.
      Check for audio enhancements:
Some sound settings can interfere with audio playback, so try disabling any audio enhancements in the sound settings.
      Check for conflicts:
If you have multiple audio devices, ensure that the correct one is selected as the default playback device.
      Check for updates:
Make sure your operating system and audio drivers are up to date.
