hello

I bought this

Predator PHN16-71

Model Number: PHN16-71

and I wonder if I can fit my old ssd in it?

I see it comes with the NVme Micron 3400 sdd and its not like my old ssd, my is an older sdd larger in size 6 year older.

    In my PHN16-71.
I had default 1TB SSD on the primary slot. I found out that there is a secondary slot where I later installed 2TB Samsung 990 Pro.

So yes, you can fit 2 SSD in 2 different slots of the laptop (they should be compatible).

The PHN16-71-xxxx laptops model has 2x PCIe Gen 4 x4 lane SSD1 and SSD2 slots, these slots are backward compatible and you can fit ONLY PCIe type drives M Key type NVMe type PCIe3 x2 or PCIe3 x4 lane type drives into these two slots, but you CAN NOT fit M.2 SATA III M&B end key M.2 drives (see caption below) as they will not work. So be aware of this. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Only M key type drives fit the PHN16-71 M.2 SSD drive slots.

I assume that you are mentioning the 2.5-inch SATA SSD. The PHN16-71 has two M.2 NVMe SSD slots but cannot fit a 2.5-inch drive. You will need to buy an external 2.5 SATA drive dock.

Thank you and have a nice day!
