The CPU temperature of the laptop normally stayed somewhere around 60-70°C, and if I did even any normal tasks, it would go up to 80-90°C. If I played games, the temperature would reach 95°C or more. So, I showed it to the nearby Acer service center, and the technician changed the paste and gave it back, saying, "I don’t know why your laptop’s CPU temperature is getting high, but I’ve changed the paste."

The temperature remained the same, but I read a thread on Reddit about reducing the maximum processor output to 99% in the Power Plan settings in Control Panel. I did that, and the temperature became absolutely normal, just like when I first bought the laptop. However, when I checked Task Manager, I found that this had turned off my CPU turbo, which used to go up to 5.0GHz, while the base clock is 2.21GHz.

Now, the laptop is running at 2.21GHz during daily tasks normally, but any CPU-intensive application or gaming is causing issues. I used to play a lot of Fortnite on this laptop, and it used to give 120+ FPS, but now it’s stuttering and dropping to around 23-30 FPS.I thought about using ThrottleStop, but there are a lot of videos suggesting different things, so I haven’t had the guts to try it yet. If someone can help me figure out how to lower my CPU temperatures while maintaining good performance, I would be very thankful.
