Cpu temperature high on my PH315-53 i7 10th Gen 10870H RTX 3060
Tinkerer
The CPU temperature of the laptop normally stayed somewhere around 60-70°C, and if I did even any normal tasks, it would go up to 80-90°C. If I played games, the temperature would reach 95°C or more. So, I showed it to the nearby Acer service center, and the technician changed the paste and gave it back, saying, "I don’t know why your laptop’s CPU temperature is getting high, but I’ve changed the paste."
The temperature remained the same, but I read a thread on Reddit about reducing the maximum processor output to 99% in the Power Plan settings in Control Panel. I did that, and the temperature became absolutely normal, just like when I first bought the laptop. However, when I checked Task Manager, I found that this had turned off my CPU turbo, which used to go up to 5.0GHz, while the base clock is 2.21GHz.
Now, the laptop is running at 2.21GHz during daily tasks normally, but any CPU-intensive application or gaming is causing issues. I used to play a lot of Fortnite on this laptop, and it used to give 120+ FPS, but now it’s stuttering and dropping to around 23-30 FPS.I thought about using ThrottleStop, but there are a lot of videos suggesting different things, so I haven’t had the guts to try it yet. If someone can help me figure out how to lower my CPU temperatures while maintaining good performance, I would be very thankful.

I don't think you did it perfectly. Will you be able to do it again if I guide you in my way?
Actually, the air vents should be cleaned from both sides, and we need to open the heat sink to clean it from the inside. The method of applying thermal paste also matters. I can guide you on how to do it. Will you do that?
Also, what thermal paste do you have? What are your VRAMs? Do the pads or pink paste on the VRAM look good?

First, you'll need high-quality thermal paste, such as Arctic MX-6, Isopropyl alcohol (90% or 90%+) to clean the old paste from the chips, lint-free cloth to so we can Moisten it and remove paste and a toolkit to open the laptop.
Did the technician open your laptop and service it in front of you? Did they remove the fans and clean the air vents from the inside? These are accessible by removing the heatsink.
Although the technician stated they applied new thermal paste but we don't know if he clean fans and vents or not doing it yourself ensures it was done correctly. This way, you can verify the quality of the application. There's high chances you laptop will work like before but we need to do it carefully.
