The screen freezes whenever i launch a game that requires gpu switch and only the display freezes i can hear the audio of the game at the background. I have the 1.25 Bios version.

My config. is : 32 gb Ram, 4060 8 GB, Amd Ryzen 7840hs / Windows 11 Pro 24h2 (26100.3476) version.

This problem started recently. I did not have any problem until last month and was using latest amd gpu and nvidia gpu drivers available in that time whitout any screen freezing problem. When I uptaded adrenalin (25… version) and nvidia (570…) problem started and can not be solved. Even roll back to previous drivers did not solve the problem. I have tried many things (ddu, fresh windows setup e.tc. but no succes. The only thing works was cleaning all the grafic drivers and setup the Acers' lates drivers, which are a year old, available on their support page. Now I have to stuck with old drivers because whenever I try to update the drivers the problems come back immidietly. Installing Geforce Experiance does not a solution because it is obsolete. Nvidia no longer supports it and has been pushing people to switch to Nvidia App. There is certainly switching gpu problem. I don't know what exactly caused this however I am not the only one having the problem. I have searched a lot in internet for solution but couldn't find any so far. I hope somebody come up with solution so we can safely update the drivers soon.

It could be the actual game that you are playing with your Nitro AN16-41 RTX4060 NVidia graphics that has a problem and the screen doesn't work, consult the games site and forums for best setting of that game or install the NVidia GeForce Experience software and play this game (see if this game is supported) with this specialist NVidia software for best settings for the RTX4060 gpu games, also this software downloads all drivers NVidia game ready drivers suitable for your RTX4060, so try that out.

Try all that and see if it works, if it doesn't then your Nitro AN16-41 only works with the last Acer provided RTX4060 gpu driver dated: 2024/03/07 version: 31.0.15.4618 that Acer provides on its support page. This is very unusual but my Nitro AN515-56 had a similar problem with the Intel AX1650i Wi-Fi/BT driver, that couldn't be updated and only worked with the oem Acer driver provided, so it could be the same with your gpu.

Dear StevenGen there is nothing to do with a particular game or geforce experince. The freezing issue occurs for every game. The problem happens while switching from igpu (Amd 780M) to dgpu (Rtx 4060) during game start. As I explanained above the problem was started last month after I updated amd (adrenaline 25… ) and nvidia (570…) drivers. Before I was using adrenalin 24… version and nvidia 566… version drivers with same games and configs and playing the games without any freez issue. So until last month those games were working perfectly and no screen freezing problems was exist.

Revert back to the older drivers that are working on your AN16-41 as that is what this laptop must be able to work with and not the newer AMD and NVidia drivers, as they say "if it aint broke don't fix it"😁. Its the same as with my BT driver on my older Nitro AN515-56, as whenever I updated to a newer BT driver than what Acer's oem BT driver was, the BT didn't work, same must be with your AN16-41 AMD and Nvidia drivers.

I still have same problem ( ı know ı am not the only one) and no real solution found or offered so far. I can not update nvidia driver. If ı do that when ı run a game screen freezes while laptop switching from igpu to dgpu. But you can still hear the sounds of the game at backround. When ı rollback to previous driver everthings work smootly. This laptop just 1,5 years old. And now ı have to stuck with the old nvidia drivers that provided with acer support page. This is a gaming laptop and most important thing is being have newest nvidia driver to be able to play latest game. There is definetly a software problem and this is definitly caused by Acer side, not by Nvidia side. This problem still exist wheather intentionally or because of their incompetence of Acer support team. What sort of stupid thing happing with acer ?? Isnt there any body to really solve the problem ????

Note: Please dont suggest meaningless solutions like :

    • Faulty ram : I dont have faulty ram.
    • Update windows : I have win 11 pro 24h2 and latest version already.
    • Using DDU to uninstal and reinstall drivers : I have done it already countless time.
    • Stay with working version of the nvidia driver: This laptop is new, not a 5 years old gaming laptop.
