Can I upgrade to 20gb max RAM for an Aspire 515-55?
If you think you can upgrade to 20gb max ram , you're right. However some models only let you replace 1 of 2 slots. So the max you can ever get dual channel is 8gb. Making upgrading basically pointless. Instead go buy a new machine from a better company. Don't buy the same brand.

Hi, Check the RAM size that is soldered on the main board, if 4GB soldered you can install a 16GB DDR4 module in the removable slot, if 8GB soldered you can install 8GB DDR4 RAM that will run in Dual Channel mode but you have to replicate the soldered RAM specs, like speed, timing (CL) and size. to find out what type RAM is soldered run this command in the Command Prompt opened as Administrator: wmic memorychip list full Acer Aspire A515-55-588C | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
Memory for a Acer - Aspire 5 (A515-55-xxx) - Kingston TechnologyAbout your remark that only 2x8GB or 2x4GB RAM modules run in Dual Channel mode, Intel's Flex Mode of the A515-55 CPU supports uneven RAM configurations. For example, if you use a 4GB and a 16GB RAM module, the system will operate in dual-channel mode for the matching 4GB from each module, while the remaining 12GB from the larger module will work in single-channel mode. The result will be 2666MHz or 2444MHz depending how well the 2 modules pair.

Yes, the Acer Aspire 5 A515-55 can be upgraded to a maximum of 20GB RAM. Here's how it works:
The laptop has 4GB of onboard memory (non-removable).
There is one additional slot available for upgrading, where you can install up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM2.
This configuration allows for a total of 20GB RAM. However, keep in mind that only the additional slot is upgradeable, so achieving dual-channel memory might not be possible beyond 8GB.
