I keep trying to copy the music files to the Chromebook memory and instead I end up making duplicates of the original music files!

Luckily, there are some easy methods to transfer your files from one computer to another. Because Chromebooks draw mostly from your Google account, you can simply upload any files you want to transfer to Google Drive. Chromebooks have a USB port, so you can easily transfer your files from a device to Chromebook.

Open the Files app by clicking on the icon. When connected to your Chromebook, the device appears as a folder in the left navigation panel of the Files app. Click to place check marks next to any files and folders you want to copy. Drag and drop the selected items to copy them between the external drive and Chromebook. For further advice look at this comprehensive guide at this link here. Good luck.

You can also use the files app to copy them, just copy from the folders on the flash drive to the folders on the laptop.

To solve this problem, I had to ask my "Gemini" assistant. Looks like I needed to "check" all the songs and then "copy" and finally "paste" them to "downloads". I kept trying to drag the checked songs to the "Google Drive". I am much more familiar with Windows, so I need to develop some proficiency with Google/Android programs.
