Hi I am experiencing issues with my Gateway computer

I cannot access my hard drive and if I try to launch Windows it gives me NOTHING to boot from!

I have tried to re-install Windows, but it does not recognize the partition!!!

I don't know what else to do

Also, how do I get to the Gateway Recovery Management screen?

PLEASE help me. Thanks in advance!

It sounds like the drive itself has failed. Which Gateway model do you have? Is it using a HDD or SSD? Which OS was installed on it?

That's what my brother is thinking, a hard drive failure

If that is the case I will have to replace the hard drive!!!

    My Gateway model is:

    "DX4380G"

    HDD I believe not a solid-state drive

Windows 11 is the OS that was (is?) installed

Check the HDD information in the BIOS by repeatedly tapping F2 on the keyboard after pressing the power button. If the HDD info section is stated as unknown, the HDD might have failed.

What do you mean by "HDD info section"?

I am not seeing that in the BIOS…

Never mind, I saw the screenshot so that means the HDD is still recognized. But it could be already failed and difficult to install Windows. You can replace the old HDD with an SSD to get better app loading speed.

A typical HDD failure doesn't show up in the BIOS. The BIOS only shows the drive model and serial number, which shows the drive's motherboard is up and running. Typical failures are more likely to be crashed heads or some other damage to the disk surface. You can pick up an inexpensive SSD to replace that failed HDD and reinstall the OS, but that model is old enough now (came with W8 in 2014 IIRC) that you might just bite the bullet and go with a newer system

It just stays on that screen in an endless loop without progressing…

I decided what I am going to do is just buy a Windows 11 installation disc and try to re-install it that way instead of through the flash drive

(I believe THAT is the reason why it wouldn't recognize any partitions!!!)

    Let's see what happens…

It likely isn't Windows 11, the CPU and chipset are too old for W11 support.

^so the culprit is most likely something within the computer itself?

    Great…

Buy a SSD instead, it will be much faster.
