VI wanted to ask if it's normal that after it's in standby and I do a search, the Google search isn't performed/or takes a while. This usually happens when you first turn it on. Or when it is in standby.

It's not uncommon for laptops to experience a delay when waking from standby or sleep mode, especially when performing tasks like a Google search. Here are a few reasons why this might happen and some steps you can take to improve the situation:

System Wake-Up Time: When a laptop wakes from standby, it takes a few moments to reinitialize all hardware components and restore the system state. This can cause a brief delay in performing tasks.

Background Processes: After waking up, your laptop might be running background processes or updates, which can temporarily slow down performance.

Power Settings: Adjusting your power settings can help improve wake-up performance:
Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
Select your current power plan and click on "Change plan settings".
Click on "Change advanced power settings" and adjust settings like "Allow wake timers".
Driver Updates: Ensure all your drivers, especially for the graphics and network adapters, are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause performance issues when waking from standby1.

Disable Hibernation: Disabling hibernation can sometimes improve wake-up times:
Press Windows + X and select "Command Prompt (Admin)".
Type powercfg /h off and press Enter1.
Run Power Troubleshooter: Use the built-in Windows troubleshooter to identify and fix power-related issues:

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
Select "Power" and run the troubleshooter.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, it might be worth checking with Acer support for further assistance.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

It did it again, I noticed it does it when the computer is in standby a lot. Or the first time you turn it on, I don't know if it's normal. Any other advice? Also because I noticed that if I wait a few seconds without doing any search, it works fine.

It depends on the type of website you register with Google. It can take a few hours to a few weeks for your website to show up in search results. If you are registering blog, it will take few minutes or hours to show up in search results.

If you have already tried the above mentioned steps, please try these solution.

When your laptop wakes up, it might be running background processes that slow down performance.

You can check Task Manager to see if any processes are consuming a lot of resources.
Sometimes, browsers like Chrome or Edge can lag. Try clearing your browser cache or disabling unnecessary extensions. You might also consider using a different browser like Firefox
Ensure your operating system and drivers are up to date. Outdated software can cause performance issues.
Adjust your power settings to ensure your laptop is optimized for performance rather than power saving.

Disabling hardware acceleration in your browser settings can sometimes resolve lag issues.
To disable hardware acceleration on your Windows PC, start by opening the Settings app using Win + I. Navigate to System, then select Display from the left sidebar. Scroll down to find Graphics settings and click on it. In the Graphics settings menu, select Change default graphics settings and toggle off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

For Google Chrome, open the browser settings by clicking the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and selecting Settings. Scroll down to System in the left sidebar, then toggle off Use hardware acceleration when available and restart Chrome to apply the changes. These steps should help improve your laptop's performance by disabling hardware acceleration.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
