Aspire V5 After updating to Windows 10 my cd/dvd player never worked again. I receive an Error Message that notes one version of dolby driver is installed and it's searching for 7.3.2.2

What V5-xxx model do you have and what error message are you receiving? Open the laptop up and take the DVD burner out and clean its pins and the laptop SATA pins and reinstall it and see if the DVD is detected and working, otherwise the DVD is faulty and you need a new DVD. Try all that and let us know how you make out. Good luck.

DVD itself seems O.K. I can hear it whirring about when I open and close the drawer. I'm convinced that updating to Windows 10 is the problem. It worked fine until that. It's taken me over a decade to realize that I should just install the driver it's looking for. Now I can't find that driver.

Dolby says to check support at the manufacturer. That's how I ended up here. Acer says it no longer supports me. At any rate, I'm willing to try to delete the newer driver the Windows 10 installation replaced this 7.3.2.2 with and then reinstall the 7.3.2.2 driver. I just can't find a copy of it.

Thanks! for bothering to reply . . .

I would suggest you to uninstall the driver and reinstall latest driver's from manufacturer's website in compatibility mode and check if the issue persist.

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.
Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.
    Select “Compatibility” Tab.
Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.
Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

    Hope this helps.
