I unplugged my computer, then plugged it back in.  Now will not reconize the hard drive at all.  Is there any way to reset it?

    Hi samfrench!

Can you let me know what happens when you try to switch on. Does it POST (in other words do you get the "e" logo)? Do you get any error messages?

Have you tried entering BIOS to see if your computer can "see" the hard drive?

Yes the E logo comes up.  Then it pops up:

"Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Inerst Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key_".

I press F12 to enter boot menu.  It shows the CD/DVD drive as the only bootable drive.

If I press Delete to enter the Setup menu, I can enter the BIOS menu and it shows the hard drive as the first bootable device.

I have disabled the quick boot and am still recieving the same message as above.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appriciated.

    Hi again samfrench

Sounds like either a cable attached to your hard drive has worked loose or worse, the hard drive has failed. Is there any activity on your hard drive light (if you have one)?

It doesn't have one. Thanks, going to try to check the wiring in little bit. Hopefully that is what is wrong, it was working fine untill I unplugged it to replace the power strip.

Yea, so all the wirews are tight. So I am going to say the hard drive is shot.  I can hear it grind when it forst gets power to it, and can feel the disk spinning but it still will not work. Thanks for all your input finluc.
