Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51 GPU issue. Clean reinstall of drivers didnt help. What to do?

Recently my laptop died. Turns out the cause was a problem with motherboard's bridges and there was a short circuit. That was quickly fixed however when i turned it on it doesnt detect GPU for some reason. Its not present in task manager, in device manager it says error 43. Diagnostic apps like GPU-Z display it but they dont show all of its properties (temperature shows, clock speeds are 0 etc). Nvidia experience keeps trying to install a driver but it never succeeds and its kinda stuck in a loop where after its "done" installing it requests to install it again. Trying to access graphics settings there shows an "Install drivers first" error. Clean reinstall of drivers didnt help

Im considering going to BIOS to disable integrated and force it to start with dedicated only, but im kinda worried:
- If the GPU is truly dead, how will the laptop boot? Im assuming itll get stuck on black screen or the screen will be incomprehensible or some such
- In the case it does, how do i set it back to integrated when i cant see anything lol

The laptop im using is an older Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-51) with gtx 1050. The Bios is InsydeH2O V1.22

And are there any other possible fixes or causes for this issue, other than dead GPU? If so, any help would be appreciated
