ANV15-41 I limited the processor frequency but it still doesn't work

Member Posts: 12 New User

About 2 months ago I encountered a problem that my processor could be in a state up to 4.20 GHz the problem is that the CPU itself began to heat up a lot and I began to fear that it would melt.Through the control panel and power plan settings, I limited the processor to 98, because otherwise it jumped to 4.20 GHz. This worked for 1-2 days. But now it doesn't work again.Under normal load, that is, the browser video is something light, it does not exceed the limit, but as soon as I launch games, it easily exceeds 4.20 GHz and the problem is that the processor reaches 89 degrees past Please help me somehow because I'm afraid for my laptop

Hi, change the Power mode in "Power & Battery" settings to "Best Power Efficiency"

To help control your CPU temperature more effectively, download and install the latest BIOS version 1.10, released on September 26, which includes enhancements to the Embedded Controller (EC) that manages the cooling of the CPU and GPU. Additionally, change your power mode by going to Start > Settings > System > Power & battery, and select Balanced or Best Power Efficiency to reduce the CPU's maximum performance. Additionally, To help manage your CPU temperatures and prevent overheating, ensure your laptop has at least 16GB of RAM and keep background processes below 75 by using Task Manager to close unnecessary ones. These steps should help manage your CPU temperatures more effectively.

If the issue persists, it might be related to a bottleneck or another hardware limitation. Please check the power supply and clean the entire system, making sure to set the power output to maximum. After running the Furmark test, check the CPU was under heavy load. Eventually you can take the system to the Acer store, since the issue could be related to the thermal paste. I recommend checking if your laptop's thermal paste needs replacing and ensuring your power options are set correctly. This might help stabilize your system during gaming.

NThe laptop is about 4 months old and I think I'll take it to the store. I installed the latest BIOS, everything as you said, and in the battery settings too. I did everything except check in Furmark.

In such cases, it's best to contact Acer support for further assistance. If you're still under warranty, they can help with a parts replacement or any other necessary repairs. You can find more information and contact details on the Acer Support page
