Should I had inside my Acer Aspire A515-52-57BY a caddy & connecting cables for additional SSD HD

Member Posts: 2 New User

I just recently purchased an additional SSD 1TB Lexar NS100 internal Hard Drive to increase my Storage. This was the first time I had opened the Laptop since purchasing just over 2 years Brand New from Curry’s/PC World.
I followed the online videos on how to open & connect Hard Drive. The video showed a caddy & ribbons to attach. Unfortunately they were not inside. Is this incorrect, if so please assist so I can connect my New Lexar SSD Drive.

Many thanks in advance for assisting.

Acer usually has a 2.5" HDD kit included in thse laptops boxes, but in your case with the Aspire A515-52 its not included and you will have to purchase the below parts yourself.

To install the additional 1TB Lexar NS100 SSD 2.5" SATA 3 drive, you need to purchase the different kit parts and screws which there are two different types, 4x to secure the drive to the HDD bracket and then 4x to secure the drive and bracket to the laptop lower case. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

thank you for your reply. I can say Yes for replying & giving me heads up on a possible cost. The parts I need are not shown, Caddy & cable connectors shown on the Internet Videos, again thank you for replying.

Search on eBay/Amazon or the web and see what you can come up with in your area. Good luck.
