AN515-58-Disabling PD Power from Thunderbolt Dock, power delivery while keeping data transfer active

I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 connected via Thunderbolt/USB4 to a Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Dock. Even with my dedicated charger connected, the laptop still draws power from the dock’s PD input. Is there any driver, BIOS option, or registry tweak to disable only the power delivery while keeping data transfer active?

Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!

It sounds like a tricky situation! Unfortunately, there isn't a straightforward way to disable power delivery (PD) while keeping data transfer active through the Thunderbolt/USB4 port on your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, here are a few things you can try:

BIOS Settings: Check if there are any BIOS updates or settings related to USB-C or Thunderbolt power delivery. Sometimes manufacturers include options to manage power settings in the BIOS.

Driver Updates: Ensure all your drivers, especially for the Thunderbolt controller, are up to date. Occasionally, driver updates can provide additional settings or improvements.

Acer Quick Access: Some Acer laptops come with the Quick Access software, which allows you to manage various hardware settings. Check if there's an option to disable USB power delivery.

Third-Party Software: Look for third-party software that might offer more granular control over USB-C ports. However, be careful with third-party tools, as they can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

If none of these options work, you might need to reach out to Acer support for more specific guidance. They might have additional insights or solutions for your particular setup.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Most likely no way to disable PD charging. You will need to change the dock to a non-powered one.
