Laptop model- ph315-51 (acer predator Helios 300)

The laptop off suddenly when I try to turn it on, there is no boot screen, no logo just keyboard lights on and charging indicators working and fans too.

I tried most of things like reset battery, ram slot change, booting without SSD or ram, booting without battery connected, long press power button, etc. But no luck

If anyone have any idea about the issue, please help me out.

Hi, if the battery was never replaced in 6 years it will be dead, not being able to boot without the battery is no guarantee that the battery is still good when that battery is wired in series. Genuine AC14B8K Battery for Acer Predator Helios 300 N17C1 PH315-51 PH317-51 | eBay

This is a common problem in these gaming laptops like your PH315-51 laptop, as its main power rail is shorted and has either a fried mosfet or capacitor but at worse it can be a fried cpu which its protective mosfet has fried and allowed a 19V current to fry the cpu, and if that is the case, you will need a new mainboard. As these symptoms are not looking good especially if you have done a hard reset and the laptop still doesn't boot and has no power and a black screen.

Have the laptop checked by a technician, you can change the battery and see if that is the cause, but if you did a hard reset the laptop should power on even with an old oem 2018 model laptop that is up to a 6 years and has such an old oem battery. Good luck and hope things get sorted out for you and its not the mainboard.

So, I went to the authorized acer service center. He checked and said some issue mainboard. He did something and laptop working again but here the twist in last 1.5 month laptop died 3 times and I go to the service center for the repair. 2nd time he said maybe battery so I bought a new battery but laptop died 4th time (7 days ago).

Now i think its not working again. I checked mainboard there are no sign for repairs. I don't know what he do and how laptop works suddenly and why it's died after 3-5 days.

Do a Hard Reset and see if the laptop boots and it fixes the issue of not being able to boot the laptop. As it could be that your PH315-51 has an EC, Chipset chip or bios chip that keeps freeing. If the hard reset doesn't fix this issue I suggest that you take your laptop to an experienced Techni tan that can replace and program a new EC and a bios chip, as that is where your problem is. Good luck.

    Hard Reset PH315-51 laptop

Remove the two back doors for the ram and HDD first from the lower case, then remove the fifteen (15) screws securing the lower case to the upper case of the laptop, starting from the left side, pry to release the left side latches, continue releasing the bottom side latches, then release the right side latches until you can remove the lower case.

Disconnect the main battery cable from the MB plug and take the main battery out. then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then short the batteries + & - pins at the mainboard plug (as shown below) with a metal screwdriver to reset CMOS.

RTC/BIOS battery plug where you need to short the +&- pins to reset CMOS

Then leave the laptop like that for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight) and then reconnect everything as the laptop should turn on and boot properly, if you have 2x ram modules, only connect 1x ram module and test the laptop like that and see if the shutdowns still happens, then alternate the ram and see if the ram is causing this problem.
